Mississippi Records

My favorite record store in town. Great little store on N. Mississippi. Their entry in the Portland Independent Record Store guide says something like "Always for love, never for gold," and it's definitely true. This is a shop for people who are passionate about music. The owner is really knowledgable and friendly, and the prices run from fair to cheap. They have a really good selection of new and used records and a small but very high quality selection of cassettes (no CDs, though). They have larger sections for rock, punk, and soul/r&b, but also have great reggae, country, blues, international, and probably other stuff I'm forgetting. In addition, they do stereo and instrument repairs. This store is one of Portland's many little treasures that deserves all the success it can get.…
