Got my haircut here yesterday.They offered me a beer or other drink.Rock and roll atmosphere and usually pleasant stylists do a decent job.

Lottery of Haircutting Experience. I have gotten some great haircuts from this Bishop's and I have also had a few haircuts from this place that were so uneven, damaging, and/or outrageous that other hair salons tisked over my head in dismay. I've even come back into Bishops and had stylists *there* tisk over their coworkers' butchery in dismay!

On the plus side, you can walk in for a cut and there are some gifted hair stylists there. It's not very expensive, and you can bring your boyfriend since they do as much men as women there. If you get one of the good ones, you go home looking 20 pounds lighter and 5 years younger until the cut grows out again.

However, if you happen to get one of the hung over stylists who are more intent on gossiping with the other employees and unendingly bitching about their life, you may walk out of there with a shocking new low in bad haircuts. And it's tough because even if you happen to find a good stylist on duty, AND remember their name for the next time you come in, they are very likely working one of the other locations or not on shift, and then you're right back at the roulette wheel again with a good shot at getting the stylist who forgot to take their methadone that morning.

Many times, I have braved the risk of someone there dry razoring my hair to smithereens for the chance at another great youthful hairstyle. Sometimes, it has really *not* paid off... to the point that I finally made the effort to go somewhere else and find a regular stylist I could build a rapport with and also hold accountable if they hacked off a visible chunk of my hair totally by mistake as happened another time at this Bishops.

IN SHORT: It's a high stakes gamble.

Nice Price, Great Cut. I've always had trouble finding a good stylist, price and location.

I took a chance when I drove by Bishops and was very pleased with my find.

Heather was fun and worked with me on what I really wanted. My hair looks and feels great! Thanks Heather!

pretty sweet, with beer. great neighborhood, great shops, great bishops! inexpensive, nice looking and friendly staff, great music!

I walked in and drank a beer, listened to some great music and had a stellar conversation with my stylist about portland culture. Bishops is definitely a staple in this area.

Better vibe. I've been to this Bishops a few times and liked it, mostly. The stylists were fairly nice, but there was a bit of a negative vibe. I'm sensitive to negativity, so I hadn't gone back for about 6 months. I gave it another shot recently and it was much better. The stylists seemed much more relaxed and put me at ease. I got a great haircut and splurged on a shampoo...very relaxing. I will be returning to this Bishops with my hair needs.

Bishops Services = cheap and good. Bishops is a great time and money saver. I love the easy neighborhood access. Bishops provides a great service for a very low price. Sometimes I have to wait a little longer than expected, but its always well worth it.

So much fun!!!!. I've been to a few Bishops and always had a fine experience, but this store is so fun!!! the stylists are happy and full of energy. it may not always be this way, but I was very glad to have come in when I did.

I got a great cut and color, a beer and a rockin good time!!!! Thanks Bishops for showing me a good time.
