view & uploadNice outdoor seating!!!. I have eaten here quite a few times. I've tried many things on the menu and everything was fantastic. Reasonably priced, fast service, and a nice atmosphere. They have a nice outdoor seating area in the rear of the restaurant away from the street. On a nice day this is a great area to enjoy your meal. I would definitely recommend Greg's Backyard for a nice dining experience.
Great food fast and friendly service. They have the best Chicken fried steak and eggs. The service was very friendly and personal. Highly recommend for a great casual dining experience.
Great for Breakfast, Burgers, Ribs,Salads and lots more....
Gregs Backyard is for Great all seasons and occasions. Sit by the warm fireplace in the winter and out on the deck in the summer. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and relaxing. You can enjoy Gregs with friends and family or if you want to meet as a group. I have been going there on a regular basis for breakfast and lunch. Staff have always been very freindly with good service. The breakfast specials like Steak n Eggs or Omlette are very good and a great deal. I don't eat fast food burgers but the burgers at Gregs are excellent
and so are the Salads. I recommend Gregs to anyone.
customers NOT #1. We should have brought popcorn for the show! Tabletop of 4 were seated before the 2 of us, and we were pretty much done eating when we heard them say their orders had not even been given to the kitchen yet. Their waitress was very rude to them when she attempted to apologize, and when 1 party wished to speak to management, that man was very rude to her as well. Keep in mind that the 4 top were very nice, respectful, middle age, and they were treated very wrong. 1 lady (from 4 top) came to our table to apologize, and the manager man (owner?) told her to leave or he was going to "have her arrested". We told her about this website, and then left ourselves. We won't be going back to Greg's Backyard on 82nd again, because of the lack of care for the customers. Most any other business would have fired that worker on the spot for the rudeness alone! As for the food-it was okay, but we've had much better elsewhere in our beautiful city of Portland! Our service wasn't good either, but better than the 4 top!
Great food and casual atmosphere.. Great location with easy access. Has good food and good prices. Big breakfasts. Nice place to have a causal meal and a beer.
Cook's. Sorry , I know they have good cooks there, but not on saturday morning,My husband and I have tryed to eat breakfast there on saturday he is not a good cook it is kind of hard to get breakfast wrong, but he has and we won't try anymore, but we will still be in to drink and play your games, I fill this is not right that I can't even have a good saturday morning breakfast !!!
The Waitress was a nightmare.
We went in on a whim and at the recommendation of several people I know. It was around 9:00 PM and there was only one other party of four in the restaurant. Right off the bat, our waitress had a snarky attitude. Apparently, we weren't ordering fast enough and when I did order it was too much trouble to just get what I wanted because she actually suggested something else entirely. I stuck with my guns and requested the Backyard Burger "dry". Dry means no condiments, sauces or veggies at all. When my food arrived, naturally I checked. Lo and behold, there was some saucy concoction of bar-b-q sauce ad relish on the underside of the burger. YUCK!
According to the waitress, I only specified no mayo or veggies. Dry to her means I need to name off each specific item on the burger that I don't want included. Of course this is only after asking us snidely when we ordered if we had ever been here before. It sounded a little incredulous like we were being lame for ordering the food we were ordering. These are just two examples of the unacceptable behavior bestowed upon us while trying to get a simple meal.
Our waitress exhibited poor social and professional demeanor and I will never go back to this place again regardless of how good anyone says the food is. In choosing anywhere to eat, when the service is as blatantly pathetic as what I experienced, I would rather eat dirt served by monkeys.
Top notch BBQ. New to Portland we we have been trying the better known places, even though Greg's is just down the street. My wife had the 4 ribs with salad and I had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. This place was a VERY pleasant surprise. The food was better than any of the other BBQ places we tried, including Clays, Campbells, and even Podnahs, and was somewhat cheaper. Needless to say we will be going back!
Awesome.
Gregs has the BEST BBQ ribs that I have ever eaten! I pride myself on finding the best ribs in town, to venture to new places, and found that at this point Gregs is hands down the best.
My entire family ejoyed everything they were served. Even the fries were outstanding.
If you can make it to Greg's, I highly recommend it.
