High Prices, Pushy Service.
My husband and I moved to the area recently and I've been checking around for a place for our daughter to take guitar lessons. I have played for years myself and thought she could use my instrument. It only needed some new strings but is otherwise in great shape. When I went in, the owner talked our ear off about lessons, and then told us the guitar we had was totally unsuitable and that we would have to buy a new one. He pointed us to a new model he said would be just right. When I asked about just buying the strings I found that their prices on most things seem really high.
Fortunately we found another local shop that seems to have fair prices, and my daughter has been comfortable taking lessons there. Our guitar sounds great with just some new strings and I"m glad we were not convinced to spend a lot of money for something we do not need.
