Sellwood Public House

Only if you have a mullet. You see the sign outside and think it may be kind of cool. You walk up a stair case and are witness to the most depressing environment you can expereince on a Friday night. Whomever decorated must not be very fun at parties. From t.v.s to old sellwood photos to sports photos. Then you look in the other room and it is filled with craps and poker tables like we're on some kind of river boat. Except no one is on this boat.

I sit down with my wife to order and literally 5 minutess oges by withteh wiatress/bartender passing by us. Finally she asks us what we want to drink, and my wife orders a beer and asks for menus. The waitress says "That family over ther has all the menus but once they order you can have one."

HUH? Not only should a restaurant have more than 8 menus but you can't go and ask the family (who was ready to order) to take a few menus for the 3 additional tables that were waiting?

We dropped some bills for the untouched beer and left. I will smile when this rathole disappears with the recession…

New And Improved. In response to Sellwooder's review the Sellwood Public House sold the day before Sellwooder wrote the review. The restaurant is fully staffed and much improved. The new menu is wonderful, the staff is friendly and helpful and the new owners have made all the difference in the Public House. I recommend Sellwooder try the place again. I visit the establishment on a regular basis and love the feel of the place.…
