What People Are Saying About Reform Pilates and Movement

Reform Pilates and Movement

Pilates, as taught in the classical method, is systematic. This systematic approach believes that one apparatus cannot be divorced from another. Therefore, Pilates at reFORM is different from other studios. In a typical session, each student's workout is specifically customized to meet individual needs and goals. As a client, you will rarely repeat the same workout, so your body and mind will never be bored.

Change and results occur when the body is challenged to alter patterns and break old habits. We utilize not just the reformers and mats, but incorporate the Wunda chair and high chairs, the Cadillac, magic circles, foam rollers, barrels and Ped-I-Pull. All of the instructors at reFORM have trained systematically so they understand Pilates as a whole. It's intelligent and efficient in design, just as Joseph Pilates intended.

I really love reform! All of the teachers are very experienced and able to work with my hip replacement (one year ago) while still challenging me. I would have never expected to have been able to reach this fitness level again after my surgery. I am not only stronger and more flexible, but find that I can participate in activities like cycling and hiking that were previously prohibited because of my hip problems. I strongly recommend Reform, especially as a well established studio with excellent well trained teachers. Professional and clean-I love Reform!

I have always wanted to try Pilates in a studio with machines, so about 6 months ago I reviewed different studios on City Search and decided to give Reform Pilates a try. My body has changed, I've become motivated to do more cardio (because I feel so good), I have gained knowledge, am more aware of my posture and am experiencing less lower back pain. The staff is so competent and caring. The facility is clean and well organized, east street parking. Well worth your time and money. I look forward to my session every week and am very excited when I can find time to attend a mat class!

I've been doing Pilates matwork using the videos available on the market for a year. It has made a marked difference in my appearance and my strength. I knew that 'real' Pilates involved equipment, but knew of nowhere nearby that had the equipment or a trainer. Searching Google one day I saw Reform Pilates & Movement Studio right here in Portland, and immediately called. What an AMAZING difference I have already seen within and without. Everything you may have read about Pilates is true, and Jessica is the absolute BEST. She's extremely organized in her approach, and very knowlegeable about the discipline. She's her own best advertisement. I feel that having my own Pilates trainer is very decadent, but Im worth it! I look forward to every class knowing Ill learn something new and leave feeling like my body just got tweaked, and that feels great!
