not authentic, but its about as close as you'll get in PDX.
The pizza isn't authentic to what real chicago pizza is, but its still good enough to keep coming back.
Its basically like a glorified pizza hut honestly.
So if you hate pizza hut with a passion I wouldn't bother.
Always great!. I always enjoy coming to old chicago. The spinach dip is my FAVORITE and they have some great sandwiches too.
Hearty pizzas, an extensive beer selection and sports on TVs make this a casual hangout for large groups..
In Short
This neighborly pizza-and-subs restaurant is a sports lovers' haven, with its plasma TVs, numerous beer signs and Chicago sports team paraphernalia. But the casual, tavern-like vibe also draws groups of professionals, families and couples who sit in overstuffed booths to enjoy steaming deep dish. As the night goes on, younger crowds mingle while enjoying a selection of over 110 beers.
Go here for the service not the food.
Happy hour is a reasonable reason as well. Or if you are like me and have freinds that like to go here for no apparent reason.
The food is sub-par the beer is spendy, but the wait staff is great!
No Service!. Wait staff were seems to be "too busy" ignoring new guest. Waited for awhile but decided to leave because customers should be treated like they are invisible.
Great Pizza, Friendly Service. When we went to Old Chicago's, a sever came up and got us a table, our drinks and our order, and our (very yummy and hot) breadsticks within about 15 minutes. Our pizza was perfect, with just the right amount of each topping. It wasn't one that you'd get done eating and say, "Dang, I wish there'd been more crust or cheese." The server even took the time to serve us each a slice, so we didn't have to try to get those first pieces out ourselves. The soda was unlimited and the atmosphere was cozy, with comfy seats. We'd definitely go there again for pizza! But on part of this site it says SE Portland, when it is really in the NE.
horrid service. This restaurant is near my house and me and my girlfriend decide to go give it a try one night. we went in around dinner time. stood there and waited for ten minutes. We saw the staff walking by us a few times. no one greeted us at all. they dont look very busy or friendly either. So we just walked out and went to red robins down the street instead. much better service there.
Good, but not really Chicago. I am a native Chicagoan and have to say I was a little disappointed. I ordered the Italian Beef sandwhich hoping it would at least be close to the delicious sandwhiches I was raised on, but not so much. The italian nachos were interesting although not something I had ever heard of in Chi town. Still good food though. Did not like the smoking in the bar.
