Within the metro region, there currently is no other salon SANCTUARY that provides superb service skill together with the pleasant appeal to each of ones five physical senses, and yet at the Nail Sanctuary these features are addressed in ardent spades. Her long-term and fortunate newest clients like me know this well and willingly schedule in advance to ensure regular sublime service experiences.

What?!. I've been in this shop many times and haven't found anyplace else that's as great. The "chickabomb" person with the silly review - she's mad because this shop stays booked? - doesn't seem to get it. Having more than one person working would ruin the solitude, which is the whole point. Of course this place is busy - there's lots of frazzled folks out there looking for a little peace and quiet!

An outstanding salon. I am writing in response to the negative comments from Chickabomb. In my years of patronizing salons from Portland to Beverly Hills to Prague and Paris, etc., I can only rate The Nail Sanctuary as being absolutely outstanding. Their name describes their salon perfectly -- it is a "SANCTUARY". The atmosphere is peaceful and serene and the studio is immaculate. The professionalism and expertise of the owner are beyond compare. The fact that they are now booking appointments for September and October is a testimony to their excellence. I hope you will not pay attention to these unwarranted comments (and with many misspelled words) from Chickabomb. She has never been there.

Perfect in every way!. Update: 5/13/09. As usual, Cindi worked a miracle. I walked in after almost 8 months of tending to my twin babies with dry, uneven, ugly nails and cuticles that were shameful. I walked out feeling so pretty with clean, neat and healthy hands and nails. LOVE this place! Thank goodness for Cindi!

The Nail Sanctuary is truly a GEM in Sellwood! Peaceful and relaxing plus Cindi Rice is a wonderful salon owner & practitioner ... she's also a terrific listener, problem solver and semi-therapist. I love my quiet time in the waiting room over a cup of fresh coffee and I love my time in her chair -- we always have great conversation. Oh, and of course, I leave with perfect nails every time but for me that's now a given because I will not go anywhere else!

nurturing and serene. I'm not usually the type to sit and write reviews but I do want to add my comments about this great little salon. My husband wanted to buy me something for my birthday that was personal and just for me, and someone in his office suggested he try The Nail Sanctuary. He called the owner and she was very helpful with possible suggestions of treatments I might enjoy. He settled on a gift certificate for the Peaceful Reprieve facial and it was, in one word, fabulous. Dimly lit room, candles, gentle music, the sound of trickling water, heavenly facial bed, and a treatment that was almost hypnotic in it's soothing quality. The day I went in for my facial had started out very badly and I was very uptight when I arrived but as the facial progressed I felt all that tension just fade away. It was exactly what I needed and I rebooked before I left. The appointment book stays very full here, so I do recommend booking in advance. It's worth it!

quiet and calm. The focus of this salon, which is just one client at a time, is something that really appeals to me. It's so nice to not have anyone else but me in the treatment area; I can read if I want to, or just close my eyes and fade away for awhile and know that no one will interrupt my appointment time. I've been in to see Cindi many times now, and always come away feeling that I've managed to lose the hectic feeling I arrived with. Her facials are also wonderful; extremely soothing and gentle. My skin feels so clean and well-cared for afterwards. This is a nice spot for anyone wanting quality quiet time.

Wonderful experience. This is not your typical nail salon; it is very unique free from the typical noise and unpleasant odors of usual nail salons. It is absolutely wonderful! The service is great, the prices are affordable, and the setting is extremely relaxing and tranquil. I found the Nail Sanctuary here on citysearch.com and I haven't been to another nail salon since discovering this gem over a year ago!

A jewel in Sellwood. I recently moved into the Sellwood neighborhood with my family and found this shop during an afternoon walk. I received an amazing pedicure here; just so, so thorough and relaxing. I went back for a facial and had another great experience. The atmosphere is so calming and I was so comfortable that I fell asleep! Before I left I rebooked myself for one of the Pairing packages, and am very happy to have this great spot within walking distance from my house. I'm going to buy gift certificates for several names on my Christmas list this year.
