Great food and quick service.
Food: Delicious, hefty, and quality.
Service: Quick, responsive.
The only problem with this place is their difficulty in taking card payments. That, and the fact that the food is so hardy that I usually fall asleep after a burrito combo : )
Their to-go service may be nicer than their eat-in service, but overall an earnestly priced eatery.…
Worth it!.
I have been dining at the Jefferson location for a couple of years and have never had any complaints. In fact, I have found the food to have very good flavor (try the beef nachos), the prices
reasonable, and the atmosphere to be lively. The bartender(s) and staff have always been kind and welcoming, whether I sit at the bar or meet friends for dinner.
For anybody who has worked in the restaurant business, there are times when the restaurant gets "slammed" and you simply don't have any additional help. During these dinner rushes, I have found the staff to work hard, yet remain attentive to the diners' needs. So please don't let one or two negative reviews cause you concern. It's usually the people that have a bad experience that feel the need to write a negative review, giving an unfair, skewed overview. Which is why I write - to provide some balance. I am certain there are hundreds of happy customers that cast their vote by simply returning to dine. It's evident in the "regulars" and families I see. It's one of the better downtown Mexican joints. Busy is good! It means Ole Ole is worth trying!…
Great food and Better service!. I have been coming to the Jefferson St. Ole' Ole' for about 2 and a half years and 50+ visits and was appalled when I read the deceptive and inaccurate reviews of this restaurant. I am not the review-writing type, but felt that I had to say something because of the fantastic experiences I have had. Wonder why the place is so busy on Friday nights? It is BECAUSE of the good food and exceptional service dumb dumbs. I sometimes visit for dinner only after work and sometime I visit to suck down a few of their delicious margaritas. In either instance, the service, food and drinks have always been exceptional. What, did you have a bad day guy? Go kick your dog...don't purposely go out of your way to try to slander and beat down the hard-working restaurant folk of Portland. You from California guy? Move back. And, you have the gall to accuse the employee of stealing from the till? Nice work Detective Palumbo. Unbeleivabley naive and childish comment. I have gotten to know a couple of the employees and frankly, they aren't the vegas vault thieves you are trying to imply...Bottom line is this: Great food, drinks and service. Give it a try and I guarantee you'll be back.…
Worst Service Ever. I highly recommend the Ole Ole, on E. Burnside. A friend and me have tried the Jefferson Ole Ole, twice now, and it has been the worst service every time. We waited 10 minutes to have our order taken, while no one else is in line and the guy working was chatting with patrons on there way out for instead of waiting on us. Then 5 minutes later I notice he hadn't even given our orders to the chef, while the employee talked with another customer. In what would normally take 5 minutes to make a burrito, took 25 minutes, and two people got their food ahead of us. Who ever works Friday nights, needs to be fired, and they need more people running that place. Don't bother with Jefferson, goto E. Burnside!…
Excellent mexican! For around $5. I had a chimichanga at this place and it was magnificent! It was one of the biggest i have ever had and for 5 dollars, it is more than worth it. As for taste: as it was served was really really good, but add in the red and/or green sauce on top, and it is excellent. The staff was nice, funny, and friendly, and even cleaned up our plates before we left even though it is the general rule you put your own plates in the bus tubs. I would highly recommend this place to others. Not a place to take people to impress them, but great food for 5 dollars.…
