Mmmm. We love Pasta Bangs. The seafood linguine and hazelnut pesto penne are great, and the Caesar salad is fantastic. The owner, Polly, has been our waiter both times we visited and she mixes a solid cocktail. We'll be back!…
Friendly, trendy, neighborhood place for good reasonably priced pasta. Been eating here at least twice a month since it opened two years ago. Had some ups and downs, always good food but the new chef is great. Same basic menu just many notches higher in taste, preparation and presentation. Its a small place with a small staff so service can get slow if the place gets busy on a night they aren't prepared but sit back have a great drink or one of the best $4 glasses of house red around and do some people watching.…
Standard pasta dishes and a full bar draws the hip to North Mississippi neighborhood..
In Short
Exposed brick walls, funky striped banquettes and a hip staff makes for a fun, artsy feel. The menu focuses on inventive appetizers and pastas with an Italian bent. Most dishes
come in large and small--portions are ample either way. Starters like the seafood-packed fisherman's stew and trio of polenta triangles are great for sharing. Pastas cover all the bases from the ultra-rich hazelnut pesto to the light and satisfying linguini with clams and roasted garlic.…
Awesome atmosphere- Average Food.
We have eaten at Pasta Bangs four times since they opened last year. The first time the food was above average and the place was hopping. The last time we were there the food was average at best
and the place was almost empty on a Saturday night at 7:30. The atmopshere is very cool. Lots of good art and great banquette type seating. The owner acts as bartender and her cocktails are probably the best thing they have on their menu. The pasta dishes, while not bad, are something that I could have easily made myself at home and I am not a gourmet cook.
If they can get a new chef to spice up the menu a little, I will be back. If not, then there are too many other places in town to try!…
All good except ..... The food was great, the prices were expected, servers were friendly. We got there at 10 and asked if they were still serving dinner. We ate and had paid- by this time is was about 10:40. Then we sat and finished our drinks and were talking some more. I knew we were were the only ones in there but it didn't seem to matter. Until the server came over and blew out our candle! A simple "we are closing in 10 minutes" would have sufficed when we paid our check. Now I am pissed but I will go back because I liked it.…
