Our food is delicious Italian American soul food, like that offered at many restaurants in the Little Italies of New York, Philadelphia & Boston. Our focus is on the dishes made by southern Italian immigrants who adapted the food of their
motherland to the available ingredients in their new American homeland. The heart and soul of our cooking is homey, honest, unpretentious, and homemade. Robust food served without frills or fuss. Everything is made from scratch, in our kitchen, using the best possible ingredients. Our veal is free-range & naturally fed, and we use local products whenever possible. Even our mozzarella is made fresh daily, and guaranteed to be the best you've ever tasted. We are committed to simple food, perfectly cooked and expertly served by people who genuinely care about your dining experience. Buon Appetito!

In Short
Comforting cuisine is served in this homey restaurant with deep plum-colored walls, white tablecloths and sparkly chandeliers. Candlelit tables are small and cozy, and generously portioned dishes, great for passing around, make it an ideal destination for groups. The menu includes fried zucchini with a zesty tomato sauce, daily lasagna, and manicotti--handmade crepes filled with ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. The densely creamy and delicious tiramisu is some of the best in town.

Our waitress was one of the best I have ever had in Portland. I think her name was Stephanie. She was energetic, fun, had perfect recommendations and made our dining experience memorable and fun! The food was incredible, very flavorful and great proportions!

We went there recently for my mom's birthday. This one waitress who was not serving us walked by our table continually with the worst expression on her face and glared at us several times. Our waiter commented: Did you enjoy your appetizers? My mom replied: "Oh yes, the bread was wonderful". The waiter then said: "No, I meant your drinks". If they don't want to serve alcohol, then don't serve it. That goes for many restaurants in Portland: What is WITH this city and drinking? So many people here get so hot and bothered/and or offended when people order drinks. We also noticed that while we were eating, several workers were standing at the bar looking right at us and talking - probably gossiping. It reminded all of us of a high school cafeteria and why you never choose to eat inside of one. Needless to say, we will not be back.

Nice old bar seating and excellent food! Try one of their homemade vodka drinks! Bartenders always nice to visit with. Cant beat the prices.. lasagna and calamari are the best.
