I have been going to Tryon Creek for years. It was pretty cool with the staff being very friendly and the food was good some times even great. Lately not only does the staff some time seem like they was just a soon smash their head with a hammer than serve you a decent drink but the food is terrible. I am not just saying bad but it’s awful and I have went back several times to see if it was just a fluke. I think that the girls that tend the bar really don’t give a heck if your food comes out hot or not. From a burger that was barely done with wilted lettuce to being so poorly put together when I asked for extra onions then looked I realized I just had a sliver to begin with. The food is cold, greasy and don’t bother with the Tryon dip unless you prefer a slice of meat so thin you can see through it. The mozzarella wedges are cold and very greasy and the sauce that it came with tasted like they took a can of tomato soup and added a little garlic to it. It was very watery and tasted like S&%T. The Tryon dip which used to be really good is reduced to a thin slice of meat with a ton of bun and they make sure to serve it cold because they really don’t have any method of communication between the kitchens to let them know when the order is ready. They just occasionally stick their head in the door and look. It’s a really poor system and the food generally is cold by the time it makes it to your table. I used to really enjoy their pizza too but unfortunately it has also gone down hill and I think since now they have a special on one of the nights reducing the price down to $10 its because that’s all its worth. I really think the owner needs to send in a mystery shopper to see how poor the food really is. If you want attitude, drinks that are some times good some times poor and food that is poor pretty much all the time then this is the place for you. Oh on a good note they do have a variety of bent pool cues and older tables to play on. Take it from some one who has gone here for years. It’s going down hill.

It is what it is. A semi- sports bar with a lot of college students. God place to watch the blazers, ducks or even OSU. If you go in during one of those games what the hell do you think will be on all the TVs. If you dont like that then walk to the back and change one of the TVs no one is watching. Dont just sit there and complain to yourself then come here and write a poor review. There service is great, bartenders have been nothing but nice to me. The place is smokey but wont be after the 1st of the year so deal with it.

It seems that most of the previous reviewers were maybe expecting a bar straight out of the Pearl! Tryon is a classic-style bar; there's games on TV, food that your mother wouldn't approve of and bartenders that don't take lip from anyone. Seriously, most of the bartenders are of some of the coolest people in the world, but if you're rude and expect them to bow down to your needs, then you better expect to get poor service. On the other hand, if you're nice and polite, they're quite pleasant and awesome to talk to. There's usually about a dozen beers available, including several seasonal microbrews and happy hour includes 2.00 well drinks and the usual specials on foods. Due to the close proximity of Lewis & Clark College, the bar tends to be frequented by undergrads and law students, although professors may be spotted there on occasion. It's a great place to go to with your friends after school/work, but the younger crowd tends to steer clear on weekends. Anyone going into the bar expecting haute cuisine will be sorely disappointed and yes, anyone bothered by smoking should steer clear. However, it's a great place to stop for a quiet pint, or to watch the game and they have one of the better tasting burgers for under $6.00 you'll find at most bars in the city! Weekly specials: Monday: 50 cent Tacos Tuesday: 2.00 domestic beer, 2.50 micro Wednesday: 5.00 burger and domestic beer, 6.00 with micro Thursday: 4.00 Long Island night! Friday: Bartender's Choice (There is typically free pool after 7 on the weekends/some weeknights, at the bartender's discretion; you need to ask for the Foosball, as they tend to get lost)
