In Short – A casual crowd sits under the branches of a giant olive tree in the re-creation of an Italian courtyard. Italian-style desserts, like chocolate espresso creme brulee and molten Mt. Vesuvius cake are garnished with sugar art, chocolate and delicate pastry. Simpler, but no less satisfying, are 24 flavors of handcrafted gelato, from rich dark chocolate hazelnut and creamy vanilla bean to exotic passion fruit. Pastries, homemade muesli, panini sandwiches, salads and Italian-style coffee drinks are also served.

Im in support

by bcoop

I support all of the previously written POSITIVE reviews and then some. During, what seemed like, the worst of the recession I worried we would lose this privately owned local business. I had days when I stopped and made a purchase even though I didnt really want anything. I felt like the owner was so glad to see his people still coming through the door and it was one more dime to keep him afloat.

The mega giants take our money. you dont know the people and you dont get the same service all the while they dont much fear the doors slamming and locking as our private owners do.

In these days when busineses are trying to crawl back out from the crush of the recession- cut them a break. Your this or that is smaller etc.. it probably has to be so they can make ends meet and get themselves going again.

Please continue to bring your business here as I dont want to lose this business and have to go elsewhere. I hope you dont either.

  • Pros: Excellent service
  • Cons: parking patrol :)

Not as great as it use to be.

by atsugari

This WAS my favorite place. I remember eating here about six months ago the food was delicious light and appetizing. I've always ordered the Honey crepes and their other desserts are always fantastic. My usual honey crepes came in a large plate with three crepes and a light berry sauce but the filling was light and slightly sweetened.

Last night I went with a couple of my friends to visit again. This time when i ordered it my crepes it came in a tiny plate and I only got two crepes cut in half, the filling was so thick, heavy and sweet that I felt it almost clogging my heart. I only ate part of it. All the desserts were $8 or more, it use to be only $7, and the portions are smaller and the dessert is lower quality than back then. I won't go back again.

  • Pros: Good atmosphere and coffee
  • Cons: Prices raised, portions got smaller, food quality went down.

Get your latte constructed by a PRO!! GREAT COFFEE, GREAT SERVICE, LOCAL!!!

by gwygilman

We go to Via almost daily! They have great coffee the best construction of a latte or mocha you will ever find! Much better than Starbucks, and you don't walk out smelling like coffee beans.

Your latte will be consistently good because the same person will make it each time, the owner, unless you come at night then you may be more interested in the wine or the gelato -several flavors always something new and amazing!. Good breakfasts panini's, home made pastries and soups are really great! The desserts are amazing! It's a great place to hang out in the evening with friends or collegues. The owner know most of his customers by name and won't hesitate to introduce you to someone that you may find very interesting, so it makes for great networking. One of the few places in Portland with TOP KNOTCH Service! They are very attentive and ALWAYS thank you before you leave, which is a dying art in this town it seems. It's located across from Tanner Springs park so it can be romantic to take a walk with a date in the eve to see the fish etc.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! It's the BEST place to grab a latte in Portland by far!

  • Pros: Great coffee, gelato, wine, service, value, and ambience,
  • Cons: can be busy sometimes to get a latte, but this is not too often and its WELL WORTH IT!!
