There are so many unique treasures here! All manner of vintage ephemera and usually something for everyone. I have a hard time not picking up at minimum, a couple crazy old pictures, a belt buckle, maybe a record. Sure, there are a lot of vintage shops abounding, but this place actually FEELS like a vintage shop. Love it.

The Coolest Crap You'll Never Need. You don't need to be a pack-rat or a compulsive hoarder to enjoy shopping at Smut, but it helps. They have all of the coolest vintage crap -- let's face it, nobody really needs any of this stuff -- in town. Returning to Smut has become my favorite unhealthy compulsion.

gosh, the good ideas here.. my friend stopped here in midst of lp shopping. damn, ferris and company had more great ideas i went around snapping photos. all was clever but not greedy! many a shop should visit for the premium ideas, and good stuff. more stores like this please, nationwide. please, please, please.

best records/thrift in town just dont tell your friends. I am in love with this tiny dream. The records are always reasonably priced and plentiful, the furniture is unique and changes up, the clothes are cute and the curios even better (my pack of Yo! Mtv Raps cards went over well as a gift) The staff is SO nice and helpful. They took the time to teach me how to hook up my record player to an old receiver. This is the spot. i just hope it doesn't get so popular the selection becomes picked over and the affordable prices become out of reach

Super Magnificent Underated & Terrific. Having been a thriftstore maven my entire life, I cannot believe that there is a store of this caliber in this day and age. Granted Portland is a mecca for boutiques with quality merch, but, for its size, this store has an amazing selection and it is all extremely well priced. Most everything I have purchased has gotten compliments (especially my suede brown Small Faces-esque hat replete with feather). PLUS - the record selection is incredible and is already a stop for rock stars passing thru town.
