Nice atmosphere, great service. Finally tried Five Spice over the weekend. The food overall was good, the service was great, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The tuna was perfectly prepared, however; I don't know why it comes with the curry that does not complement the fish well and doesn't have good flavor. The mango salsa is nice with the fish. The sturgeon was very well prepared, it comes with a black rice rissotto which is not plated well and looks unappealing, but it does taste pretty good. The creme brule was average, with the consistency varying through the dish. Overall it was a good dinner and we'll be back.  View Less View More

Very cool spot. Beautiful restaurant with an amazing view of the park and lake. Great menu, food tasted great and was artfully presented. Cocktails were fresh and fun. Huge wine list, and I hear the do 1/2 price wine on Sundays. I can't afford to eat here daily, but will come for special occasions.  View Less View More

Good food and drinks-Killer view. Really good food, a little on the spendy side. Cocktails were awesome. The view is amazing if you can grab a seat on the balcony. I'll be back :)  View Less View More

Not worth your time. We went on a friday night and were greeted and then left waiting for a table. They were not busy but after 10 minutes standing we asked for the manager. He seemed annoyed that we pulled him away from drinking wine and came to us and said "What do you want" with this fake brooklyn accent. What a snob. We told him we have been waiting for a table and no one has helped us. He passed us over to a staff member and went back to his wine.

The food was just ok. It was over salted and cold by the time we got it.

This is a far cry from fine dining. The manager was apathetic, staff seemed clue less and the kitchen staff needs to learn seasoning 101.  View Less

Great view, terrible service. Clearly the management team here does not care about its customers. I took my gf here for dinner and it was such a catastrophe that I would never step a foot again inside this establishment. We were pretty much the only ones here that night who got a table with a nice view. What I thought was going to be a romantic dinner turned out to be a nightmare.

Waiter brought our food out and accidently spilled the sauce from the entrée onto my gf’s dress. Mistakes happen so no reason to make a big fuss over it, but what happened next was irratating. Instead of apologizing or rushing to try and help her, the guy just stood there like a deer in headlights. I quickly grabbed my napkin and tried to wipe as much of the sauce as possible off of her before it stained. The waiter was completely dumbfounded. No apologies. I quickly sent him on his way because he obviously wasn’t helping at all.

Once we got that mess cleaned up by ourselves, I looked at her plate and since half the sauce and whatever else got on her dress the plate looked like a complete mess. If Gordan Ramsey saw the way this plate was served, he would have had a hernia. I asked for the plate to be replaced and when the plate came back it looked like the chef took the piece of meat off of the plate, threw it on another plate, poured some sauce on it and sent it back out again. Plate came back looking almost as bad as the first one did, but I didn’t want to make too big a scene because I didn’t want them to spit in our dessert. The food was mediocre at best.

After the fiasco of the spillage and the main entrée looking like it was prepared by some Hell’s Kitchen reject, we never saw our waiter again. I had to ask multiple other waiters/waitresses for our check so we could get out of there, because it was extremely uncomfortable.

A letter was sent to the General Manager of the establishment explaining how disappointed I was in the service, quality of food, and the entire experience overall. My letter had an attached photocopy of the receipt in case he wanted to see who was our waiter so proper coaching and training could be resolved. My letter also had my personal contact information in case the manager felt the need to make it right. I don’t sit around the house waiting for freebies, nor do I expect one. But at the very minimum, I expected a phone call or even a letter back saying “sorry, we messed up, hope to see you here again.” That would’ve sufficed. I did not receive a letter nor a telephone call. Nothing.

So my conclusion is that from top to bottom, no one really cares. From the management staff who sits behind closed doors and collects their bimonthly salaries to the chef who lost his love for the culinary arts, to the wait staff who was trained by barbarians, no one cares. This is an absolute joker of an establishment. Don’t take your gf/wife/fiance/significant other here, you definitely won't be getting any brownie points.  View Less
