Parisi's

Sunny place to go on a gray day. I always feel happy when I go into Parisi's. With its yellow and apple green walls, sparkly red vintage booths, and smiling staff, it's always a nice spot to stop into. The coffee is delicious (I wonder - with such nice independently owned coffee shops on Fremont, why are people so loyal to Starbucks?), the sandwiches are tasty, the homemade fudge comes in many flavors, and the gelato is out of this world. I live and work in the neighborhood, and I know everyone missed Rose's ice cream shop and couldn't wait for a new place to take its place. It always makes me chuckle when I see people walk out of there early in the morning on a rainy day with a gelato - guess people know a good thing when they taste it, and aren't going to wait around till summer to enjoy it!
nothing special. We've been to this cold, sterile place three times. Good service, but too many coffee shops already on the street. The neighborhood isn't too crazy that they're here. Gelato in winter...great. Other local places have a niche. I suppose Parisi's is a concoction of fudge, food, ice cream, tonics...there is no focus.
Gelato in a rainbow of flavors draws Beaumont families to this noveau ice cream parlor..
In Short
This space combines modern touches like a retractable garage door that opens to the outdoors with retro touches like red sparkly vinyl booths and chairs. Families enjoy grilled panini sandwiches with gourmet ingredients like pesto and roasted red peppers, daily soups and espresso drinks. The real draw is the homemade fudge and variety of gelato treats, from the adventurous risotto (think old-fashioned rice pudding with sprinklings of cumin) to standards like strawberry.
