Good luck picking which tea you want at this eclectic Northwest nest...there appear to be something like 1000. Equally compelling is the layout of the place, there's a nook for every mood you might be in--people-watching or people-weary, and even a cute balcony overlooking NW 23rd.
Good tea. I guess I wasn't cool enough to be in there.. It was a bit uncomfortable and not particularly friendly, and a bit expensive for that attitude. The Coconut Pouchong tea, however, was very good. I might return if I'm in the area again.
Cozy and soulful. This is my absolute favorite place to hang out on a day off. It's kind of small, but that's a lot of what gives this tea shop on the second floor its charm. They've got by far the best bubble tea in Portland, an entire book of available teas, friendly staff, and wonderful local art which is changed out periodically.
Good Tea. I won't let one rude cashier sour my experience completely, but I do have a high threshold for rude, so figure that out. The tea here is good. I like that you can mix and match the tea base with the flavor.
Editorial Review. More than 80 types of tea including black, oolong, green, herbal, chai and more brewed in store, plus bubble tea.
Yum.
It must have taken us 10 minutes to decide what we wanted the first time we tried this place. I finally narrowed my choice down to chai, then realized there was around 8 or 9 different kinds. I tried the Yerba Mate chai which was very different, but fantastic. My girlfriend has been hooked on the creme de earl grey.
the atmoshpere is comfortable and not as formal as many tea houses i've been to, yet avoids the fast food feel of many coffee shops.
Variety and Comfort. I really enjoy the 10 different chai lattes this place makes from sratch. And their bubble tea is the best in town. They play really good music. The "food" part of the rating I have equated to their tea offerings, because they only have a small assortment of pastries. Definitely a focus on great tea from all over the world. And a very cozy, very casual atmosphere on top of it all. Love it. Consider me a regular.
