Editorial Review for Apizza Scholls – by Annamaria Pardini

In Short
You won't notice the plain storefront or minimalist interior for the throngs of people waiting to dine on this celebrated gourmet pie. Couples, families and groups come from all over town for the crisp and chewy crust; the product of a 24-hour slow fermented dough and very hot oven. The star crust is judiciously topped with combinations of whole milk mozzarella, fresh garlic, and Viande meats. Traditional Caesar salad and house-made cannoli complete the meal.

Where To Sit

The outdoor patio is popular, especially on warm evenings when the main restaurant can feel a bit warm and cramped.

My husband and I have lived on both coasts and have had our share of pizza. I cannot express how Apizza Scholls beats any pizza we have had before. We have stood in torrential downpours to enjoy this pizza with its perfect sauce and crispy crust. They recently opened up some more space next door but prepare to wait a bit in line, its worth it! A close second would be Pizzeria Mozza (Mario Batali) in Los Angeles.

Pros: Great Food and Friendly Staff

Cons: None
