In Short
You won't notice the plain storefront or minimalist interior for the throngs of people waiting to dine on this celebrated gourmet pie. Couples, families and groups come from all over town for the crisp and chewy crust; the product of a 24-hour slow fermented dough and very hot oven. The star crust is judiciously topped with combinations of whole milk mozzarella, fresh garlic, and Viande meats. Traditional Caesar salad and house-made cannoli complete the meal.

We decided to try this out because we saw it on Anthony Bordain and it also came highly recommended by a family member. Glad we did! It is a little difficult to find parking in this area, but we lucked out. We went on a Friday night and sat at the bar rather than waiting for a table. It wouldn't have been much of a wait anyway for a table. Our pizza did take awhile, 45 minutes, but the pizza was worth it. Tons of garlic, pepperoni, and not over the top on the sauce. The customer service here is really great too. Highly recommended!!

easy to spend $50 here and still be hungry. beware that on the menu it says $2 for additional toppings, but that goes for substitutions also. So if you want onions instead of mushrooms, they will give you a tiny amt of onion instead, and charge you for it. also be prepared to wait 45 minutes to an hour even on a slow night.

This place is hands down the best pizza in Portland for three reasons: 1. simple, quality ingredients, 2. wood fire ovens 3. sensible flavor combinations. You won't find BBQ chicken pizza or similar junk, just simple, honest food. The crust is both crisp and chewy and has a carmelized taste that will rock your world. Toppings are big on flavor and simultaneously dainty. A caesar salad is exceptionally tasty and light, without a fishy aftertaste, some good micros on tap. The wait can be long but the staff is chill and good about getting you set up with a drink while you wait. Pizzas run about 20bucks and are extremely filling. I eat like a horse and can only ever manage three pieces. Salads are about 8bucks. I've had pizza about every place in town, including the burnt garbage they're serving up at kens and this place is by far the most delicious, most satisfying and worth the wait.
