THEY ARE BACK. we went out to tried this new restaurant, we read the reviews on urbanspoon for Casa mariachi Mexican grill in Beaverton for our surprice our waiter was Perfecto, we were so happy to see all the family back again with this new name. If you like fecal bacteria, this place is awesome. The food here is OK?not bad, but nothing special either. I?m giving Sante Fe two stars however because the restaurant was featured on KPTV?s ?dirty dining? segment last year. Apparently, they found high levels of fecal bacteria in the ice bin at Santa Fe, which generally means that employee hygiene is lacking (i.e., not washing hands after going to the bathroom). Gross! Combined with the fact that Santa Fe lost it?s liquor license last year, it might be reasonable to suspect that this place is not well-managed. And trust me?restaurants that are not well-managed usually have lots of other problems that simply haven?t been discovered yet, and which you might not want to know about in any regard! My advice: The only Santa Fe worth visiting, is in New Mexico.
Horrible service and food. To begin with it took a very long time to get served and the restaurant was not busy. We ordered a beer and the waiter said they got their liquor license taken away. Our food was horrible. Our waiter never once checked on us. We had to flag the hostess down to get more tortillas. We will never go back.
Great food, fun atmosphere. The family that owns this resturant is great. The food is authentic, the salsa they automatically bring is very mild - but there is a salsa bar that you can upgrade to whatever you like. On 99 cent margarita wednesday nights, you will experience slow service, but you will also experience 99 cent margaritas. They do have newer employees who are still learning the ropes, but the food is still great and the service is coming back to the old standard. This is THE place to go when you want delicious mexican food.
Great food.
We went here once a week until they changed the staff. The service is now not so good and depending on who you get as a server you will get charged a different price for menu items. They also changed the happy hours from 3 to 6 to 3 to 5:30.....so anyone who has an office job will not be able to get here on time to enjoy the drink discount.
It is family owned and it use to be mostly family members that worked here..now they have some new people and they just are not that good.
The food is great and when Juan makes the margaritas they are some of the best I have had..but they need to get rid of the newer staff and go back to the way it was.
Good stuff.
We went there for lunch and the food was very good. They have a lunch buffet, which we did not try but looked good. They have choices for healthier options, such as substituting whole pinto beans for refried, and I had all veggies in my fajita burrito. The red sauce on the burrito was very tasty.
They also have a fresh salsa bar to add some extra spice and flavor to your entree.
The interior is cute, open and very colorful, and the outdoor patio would be perfect for sipping margaritas on a warm day (especially on Wednesdays when they're $.99).
Many many changes. *UPDATED JAN 2007* We've been going to Santa Fe about once a month since we discovered it about a year ago. Tonight, we headed in and there are many changes. First, and most disappointing, on a Wednesday night it is no longer a fiesta with margaritas and a magician. They no longer have a liquor licence. Also, the staff was very sedate - they were so fun before. On the up side, service was great, and they have a new chef and it was immediately apparent. Salsa has a bit more flavor and kick, tacos are meatier and while the menu is the same, the food is clearly upgraded. I was willing to pay $12 for a plate of tacos if I got a dollar margarita or two to mitigate the high food cost, but don't think I'd pay that much for tacos regularly anymore.
Editorial Review. Mexican cuisine made from fresh ingredients; homemade tamales, vegetarian options.
Not Your Typical Mexican Restaurant.. If you have been searching for the very best in Mexican Restaurants, then your search is over. Santa Fe offers the freshest ingredients with their daily specials. It is definitely a "family affair" as each member of the family assumes responsibility to ensure highest quality of product and service. Uncle and Aunty in the Kitchen, brothers Juan and Perfecto overseeing your orders, you leave full, satisfied and part of something that can only grow in popularity. Take the time to check them out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
Wow, Real Mexican Food :). Not only do you get great mexican food. Not only do you get great services, and a great location. The prices are fantastic. If you like mexican food, you'll love this place.
