Dogs are Super, Service is S....L....O....W.. We decided to try something different for lunch so we made our way over to the Superdog in Downtown PDX. While I did enjoy the Nacho Dog (It was really good) it took damn near 25 mintues to be served and there was only 2 other people in the place. When i complained, the guy simply said, "Sorry Dude....I kind of Forgot." Yup, I just for got your tip too.

Wonderful soup, and hot dogs too. I went here on a cold rainy day and the home-made soup warmed me up. It was really great soup. I also had a chili-cheese dog and it was great as well. Nice fresh cheese and meaty chili. The buns are as good as every one says. Nice and thick so the chili doesn't soak through. The soup and dog combo is totally filling and fairly priced.

way more than just good sausage. It's been cold and I love soup. Walked by SuperDog a few times and didn't pay much attention to them until last Friday when I caught their soup sign by the window, Decided to give it a try and it was a potato chowder soup, it was so wonderful. I also had a chicken sausage dog, the bun was fresh and the sausage was packed with protien and flavor. I had their deal and I think it's the way to go - a soup, the chicken sausage dog and a pop is 8.75, not too bad for a whole lot of food. I ended up taking at least 1/2 of the dog back to the office since it was so huge. Usually I get the munchy around 4:00 pm but not last Friday, so I know that I was eating good stuff there. Thanks SuperDog and I'll be back.

Let's mention the astronomical prices here.. I don't care what kind of dog your selling. No hotdog is worth 5 bucks a pop. and $1.75 for a 21 oz. soda. I wonder how long they will actually be in business?

BEST Hot Dogs!!!. This place ROCKS!!! I I didn't eat hot dogs for almost 20 yrs. Then I met Ellen and Ed and since then I have to have at least one a week the dogs are the best!!! Whenever I drive downtown with my son the first thing he asks is "are we going to the hotdog place". I also think they make some of the best cheese cake in the city as well as their potato salad.

Worth going out of your way!!!. After a healthy walk on a hot day, I had some pretty high expectations for this place. I can tell you the trek and the sweat was easily worth it as I had an excellent lunch. For my first time there, I chose the Double Smokie Dog Texan Style (onions, peppers and BBQ sauce) and an Italian Dog Italian Stallion Style (peppers and onions, parmesan cheese and marinara sauce.) Both dogs were lean, flavorful and served on very well made rolls. The staff was very pleasant and prepared the order quickly. The cost was nominal compared to the food received and I would happily return there.

Now I just have to get back to continue to explore their expansive menu. Go out of your way for a Superdog, it will be worth the trip!

The Hot Dogs are very good - the soups are CRAZY good!. I've eaten at Super Dog several times and I completely agree with all the great reviews. But for some reason, I have never ordered the soups - even though there's a big sign that says "Made from Scratch Soups". I went in there last Friday ? as I looked around I noticed almost everyone was eating soup or at least had a cup of soup along with their hotdog. So, I decided to order a cup with my dog. OH MY GOD!!!!! Someone obviously paid attention in soup making class! It was truly the best soup I've ever had. I've been back almost every day so I could try the others.

Super Dogs has it all in a cute little restaurant with great food and helpful staff.. 4 of us decided to go downtown this Saturday. We decided to try Super Dogs. I tried the Sun Dried Tomato Chicken Dog - YUMMY! My husband had a Brat Super Dog Special, my daughter had a spicy hot dog with chili and her boyfriend had a chili-slaw dog (Staff's choices-on the chalkboard). We were thrilled that all this food along with 2 beers & 2 soft drinks cost less than $32.00!!! All of us totally enjoyed our dogs and loved the many different mustards offered along with other delicious condiments (I especially liked the sauerkraut that was heated to a perfect temperature and I could put as much as I wanted on my dog). The rolls were incredibly tasty. This restaurant is GREAT! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

I think I've got a fave new restaurant. 3 friends and I went to Superdog for lunch yesterday. One of my friends had been raving about their chili cheese dog for a solid week. He insisted that it was the proverbial "bomb".

Upon entering Superdog we were greated by the kind owner who was helpful in explaining the menu and hot dog options. Superdog's menu is a a creative mix of traditional dog styles (Chicago) using the legendary Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs to PDX/NW products like Zenner's tasty dogs, Tillamook cheese, etc.

Despite the impressive menu I had really come for the chili cheese dogs and that's what I went with. I chose wisely as it was not only the best chili dog I've had in Portland, but the one of the best lunches period.

My chili dog was delivered to our table approximately 5 minutes after I ordered it and I headed straight for the condiment table which contained diced onions, green relish, chopped pepperoncini and diced jalapenos. Most impressive was the mustard collection featuring at least 5 kinds of mustard (yellow, stone ground, spicey brown, dijon, honey, etc) as well as the huge crock full of, what else?, warm sauerkraut. Mmmm sauerkraut.

With my dog properly topped I returned to the table and my friends to begin eating. I took a minute to study the amazing hot dog in front of me- a bun that was warm, not too doughy, soft yet strong enough to hold the massive hot dog. (Yes, the buns really are as good as people say) The hot dog was smothered with steaming chili with little shards of cheddar cheese peeking out from beneath the mountain of chili. It was the perfect portion of chili, covering the dog and transforming it into a Superdog. It was pure chili dog bliss., bute after bite. The only fuss I had was "hands technique" or "fork n knife method"? Fork.

As a bonus, (for now, anyway) if you order a Superdog on Monday you get a free Superdog tshirt.

$3.75, freaking amazing chili dog and a free tshirt.

Go for it. It's really that good.
