Red flag!

Any business owner who requires you to call ahead of time before coming over probably has something to hide. For all the people with glowing reviews, have you ever actually seen where your dogs are kept when at Patty's house? Are you allowed to come into the house without advanced notice? These are red flags at any day care facility for children and should be viewed the same way here. If she really doesn't like dogs barking when people come to the door she probably shouldn't be running a dog boarding facility. Do your homework before leaving your pooch with this woman!

Dog's nightmare

We used her service once about two years ago. I'm writing this now because my husband and I still talk about this place as our dog's nightmare. I agree with the person below about how unprofessional and rude Patty was. When we went there to pick up our dog, Patty said rudely, "Your dog was barking at night, and I couldn't sleep." We were shocked because our dog is not a barking one, and if she had really behaved that way, there is a reason. We used other dog boarding services, and she didn't behave that way at all. Obviously, this place had a reason for our dog to behave the way Patty explained. We would never use this place because we would feel we are torturing our precious dog by making her stay at such a horrible place.

Cons: Patty was mean and scared to imagine how she treated our dog

Unprofessional and RUDE

Due to the reviews on Citysearch I scheduled an appt with Patty - I had wanted to use her before but she had no availability. The appointment was difficult to schedule considering that it had to be mid-day (per her strict intake and outtake rules) and I was coming from work in downtown Portand. I noted that our appointment was at noon on my work calendar and when I arrived at her house which by the way is very far out and a heavily congested drive, the house seemed deserted. You are not to ring the bell or knock because the "barking dogs" so you have to call her from your cell phone while ON HER PORCH! Needless to say the dogs start barking anyway and while I was walking back to get my cell phone a wildly disheveled woman answered the door and said "yes?" I said I have an appt at noon and she replied, "appt was at 11, I'm not ready" and slammed the door in my face. After driving an hour and ten minutes to get there, while I clearly noted our appt was at noon. The most infuriating part of this is if I WAS in fact late - which I wasn't, she had me on the phone two days ago letting me know that her house was hard to find and the person she just met with WAS AN HOUR LATE! But apparently he must've met some other criteria. IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR DOGS AT ALL DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I don't know that the proprietor is "all there". The owner and her friends must've written all of the positive reviews on this site. HOGWASH!
