Editorial Review for POK POK – by Ivy Manning
In Short
A popular informal shack serving a smattering of Thai dishes has expanded to a small dining room. The entrees break the mold of the usual curries and pad Thai. The chef's specialty is grilled lemongrass-marinated game hen and exotic shredded green papaya salad that packs a spicy punch. The kao soi gai--a rich curry noodle dish with crispy garnishes attests to the fact that this is true Thai soul food.

Questions and comments for this "whiskey soda lounge" #1 What is the difference between a whiskey soda lounge and a restaurant with a bar? #2 Don't ask me "have you eaten here before" it may surprise you but I know how to eat and oddly enough I have even been to a restaurant before. You’re not special. #3 Your rice is not that good not matter how much you try to up sell me on it. #4 What the hell are you talking about with chopsticks and suggested use on the menu? #5 On a Saturday night don't run out of your specialty, especially if it’s just chicken wings. #6 Why do you cost so much? #7 Thirty six year old white waiters with tatts should not wear Thai clothes.

All I can say, without going into excruciating and boring details, is that I have never had service that bad before in my life. And, keep in mind that I have been in the restaurant business for over 20 years. Every single person there (literally), was unfriendly, made us feel like garbage for asking them anything. Said they were going to bring our order and forgot, and ignored us the entire time. Late with bringing the check, and rude when asked if they could bring change. Rude when we asked about the menu and rude the entire time we were there in every single interaction. Perhaps this place has become a hip little portlandesque place to eat, but be forwarned. And if you go, don't expect anythying,... that way you wont be let down. And if you are really hungry, order two things for yourself or go somewhere else. Food was just ok. Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ONE TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!
Pros: You probably wont get infectious gastroenteritis
Cons: Everything about the place is terrible, don't waste your money
