How Great A Gluten Free place For. How Great A Gluten Free place For Me!

My husband and i came here by chance and it was pretty busy which is always a good sign. We were exccited there seemed to be a good buzz about the tables and the warmth of the room itself. Our Waitress came over and told us thier specials and explained that he could tweak entrees or other dishes to be gluten free. I love this because she really seemed excited to have us rather than be bothered like other places in the recent past. I had the calamari which was amazing best by far that i can remember. my husband ordered the pork for an entree and i chose the gluten free pasta with the lamb ragu. This is by far some of the best pasta That i can remember since i have been celiac in 8 years now. Thank you for taking such great care and making me feel special rather than the outcast that has made a silly dietary choice by trend.

How could this possibly be listed as a romantic restaurant when it has a kids menu and provides coloring sheets. One way to surely provide a sort of romantic birth control is to have loud, hyper and unruly children present.

Wonderful Italian experience.I was not. Wonderful Italian experience.

I was not sure where to go, a business client recommended this jewel. I am simply Italian i like great food, good people to enjoy it with and a subtle charm in the atmosphere and experience. The restaurant is quaint and warm with the cutest farm paintings on the walls. The service was smooth and made our ordering experience more unique by suggesting that we share courses rather than the regular way most people dine out. Pasta were wonderfully fresh like my mothers and the lamb and pork were so succulent and flavorful yet simple. This is the closeest to Italy I have found from the plating of nice full portions to wonderfully fresh ingredients. This is the first italian place that I have eaten at that we enjoyed and I did not feel hungry later and I really am looking forward to the lamdb next time that I do not have to share!

Divine NYE dinner. My wife and two of our friends dined at Iorio on NYE, They had special menu which exceeded our expectations. We were greeted with champagne and an additional starter. The Gnocchi melted in my mouth. Pure heaqven. We had one of each lobster and scallop ravioli, eggplant and 2 osso bucco. We were so full. They went out of their way to treat us like royalty. Our entire meal was a great start to 2012.

Worst service in Portland and I didn't get past the door.. This review is only for the Host with the obnoxious facial hair.

First, the restaurant that's Italian, not French, stop being haughty and a total snob.

Second, when I do exactly as you say-come on sunday at 5 pm and I won't need to make a reservation, don't give me an attitude that I haven't made a reservation, b/c all I did was follow your terrible advice. Be able to anticipate an increase in traffic when your groupon is about to expire (like every other business owner).

I understand that groupon isn't the best thing, but the idea is to drum up new business and you signed yourself up for it, so you're the only one to blame. I will never spend any money at this establishment and am actively working to get a refund on my groupon b/c I do not want a single cent going to this business.

People who are not even our customers, should not be allowed to write reviews. Yes you purchased a Groupon. That does NOT entitle you to Swear, Scream and Yell ---because you waited until the last day that your voucher was to expire, and you were unable to get a reservation. The only person you have to "blame" is yourself. You purchased a Groupon, We can not anticipate that we will encounter rude, disrepectful people such as yourself. The owner, you describe, did suggest to you, that since we were BOOKED, you could come in at 5pm on Sunday to see if there were cancellations, or take your chance as a walk-in. Groupon has assured us, that they will issue credits for your $12 to put towards another business being featured on Groupon, but other businesses PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS LADY.

Fun Restaurant, Poor Reservations Management. I had previously visited Iorio and enjoyed the atmosphere, relaxed pace of service and the food. However, the last two times I have made reservations errors were made which required that we (first time a group of 4, second time , 5) make other plans. First problem: I called to make a reservation for 7:30 , was told there were none available...then at 7:30 at the alternative location I received a message asking me where I was..my table was ready! Second time: I used the Open Table online reservation to book several days in advance. I received a call the day of my reservation, saying that Iorio was overbooked and we could not be accommodated after all. My advice: double confirm your reservation!

Among Portland's Finest, for Sure. We genuinely enjoyed getting to know Iorio last night for my wife's birthday adventure.

It was a great night out, our waiter was personable, informative, and attentive for the entire evening. The courses came out at a brisk but unhurried pace, arriving as we were ready for them. The calamari is excellent, the best we've had in/around Portland, and we've tried quite a few. Two really nice, contrasting sauces enhanced the experience.

We had a nice house cocktail each and found a very good sangiovese on the short but well considered wine list, at a reasonable restaurant price instead of twice retail.

The ravioli was tender, flavorful and well matched to its sauce. My fish special was tender, succulent and well matched to the accompanying vegetables. My wife had the pulled pork with polenta and it was spectacular, and generally I see polenta as something to avoid.

Hand rolled cannoli for my wife, and a marvelous concoction of gelato, hazelnut liqueur and espresso for me.

We were seated promptly, right on time, and were not hurried along by the staff. A really perfect night on the town. Iorio is as good as it sounds.

Excellent Food and Friendly Wait Staff. We went Iorio based on City Search review last weekend. Normally I would never do such a think but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing. I would recommend the Butternut Squash and Calamari appetizers. The Ragout of Lamb was heaven and to top it all off, just out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. We also loved the friendly, which seems to be hard to find these days in Portland. We will be coming back soon.

Simply wonderful. The best seafood. Coho salmon cooked perfect. If you want to be dazzled, this is not the place for you. I heard them say this about Raos NY last week on Top Chef. Simplicity at an Italian Restaurant is key. They nail it.
