Portland >Brazil Grill
best meal ever!. My wife and I went here for our first anniversary and it was very nice, very classy. the price is a little spendy but they bring you around 15 courses of different meats that all taste equally amazing. I'd definitely go back.
Salty Meats & Okay Service.
This was my first time having dinner at the Brazil Grill and overall it was an okay experience. First we were escorted to our table by a rude jerkface of a lady (I heard she was the owner). She was rude to us like we came in as transients asking for free food. The hostess was super nice and so was a male server. The female servers all had carving swords up their asses. No expressions or no interactions with us common folks.
The meat definitely was super salty. I washed down about four glasses of water - having a big sip after each bite (I have had two more since I've been home). The best courses were the tri-tip, beef filet wrapped in fatty bacon (minus the bacon), lamb, and the shrimp. Everything else was too salty. However the meats were all moist (not as dry as everyone else commented earlier). But I will say their cinnamon sugar pineapple was definitely delicious.
Their salad bar was pretty good, not to bad and most paired well with the meats.
I will now be full for the next three days, I will thank Brazil Grill for that!
Complete Letdown! rotten servise, dry meats, what happened?.
ive been to the brazil grill 5 times.I called and asked if i needed reservations for a party of 8, on a monday.
they said yes, that was the a lie, the place was only 1/2 full.
salad bar was decent, good start, then all downhill.
First, I noticed that 1 lady was serving about 7 tables. other times i went, there were many servers. i took forever to get any meat, she brings sausage, twicw in a row to start. that means for the firat half hour, we only got sausage, then chicken legs, which was overcooked and dry,so i wait, and chat with friends for my favorites, tri tip, which was completly over well done, dry, i mean really DRY!, then i wait for my favorite mustard flaavored, same thing , dry, no flavor, ive been there 45 minutes, the lamb was great, full of flavor juicy, im thinkin, mabey it will turn around, nope, next was the bacon wrapped filet minon. the bacon was tasty, ,the meat inside was dry,
The other times i was there, the staff was great, the meat, was to die for, but this time i see that all the staff was gone, the meat sucked,
i think they are cutting corners, i was so disapointed, i will never go back again,8 peaple, 340 $
what happened to that place?
Would rather pay a few extra $ for good food!. Good service but bad quality meat. It was not moist or juicy. Like I said I would rather pay a little more money and go to PCG or another steakhouse if I'm in the mood for meat.
Great. 4 adults, 3 kids, great time, great food, great service except only one runner for most of our stay left us waiting for more meat. Otherwise, great experience, I've already recommended this to another couple. I'm searching here in Houston to see if we have as good an experience in a Brazilian Grill available as we had last night in Portland.
Best value for the money.
My husband and I went to Brasil Grill the other night and had an wonderful time. The drinks were so good. We had something called a capriana and it was delicious. We were served 10 or 12 meats on a big sword that were all very good. We had a stop light on our table to get meat delived to us or to wait. The server was very nice and explained what was going to happen because we had not been there before. There was also a salad bar that had many different kinds of salads that we had not heard of.
We had such a nice time that we plan to return this weekend.
If you are looking for a place that is different than the usual sit down and order from a menu, this is the place.
My husband said this weekend can not come soon enough for him.
Salty, Salty and just Salty.
This was my 3rd time - I've been here about once a year - and let me tell you, this place has steadily and consistently going down hill. The service, luckily for them, has stayed decent - not the best, mind you, but they don't give you the evil eye if you eat too much or linger too long. The food, however, was just so bad that my group of friends I went with decided they've earned 3 strikes so we won't be going back here - why waste your hard earned money here when there are so many better restaurants around?
First of all, we were there good 2+ hrs and there were only 4-5 different dishes - salty lamb, salty chicken leg, salty piece of chicken meat wrapped in soggy bacon, salty sirloin and salty some beef wrapped in (yup, you guessed it) soggy bacon. Have I mentioned they were all very incredibly, ridiculously SALTY? Only thing not salty was the pineapple. My group ate pineapples and endless glasses of water with each bite.
Too much bad meat that would not stop.. So on paper this place sounded great, grilled meat over open fire and lots of it brought to your table. Upon getting the first meat sample I knew something was wrong, dry and tasted like grade D garbage. It was a non busy night so I thought maybe that was the issue, but after reading other reviews I think its just the place. I would advise against anyone going there ever.
As good as any churrascaria in Brazil.
I had just come back from Rio de Janero when I first ate at Brazil Grill. I must tell you that it is as good or even better that the ones I ate at in Brazil.
The churrasco is grilled to perfection. You can ask for the meat you want, as well as the way you like it to be grilled.
The salad bar could have more of a "Brazilian" flair, but I think that they are catering more to the American taste.
The "caipirina" was perfect, but I had to have only one because I was the designated driver that night.
I intended to practice my Portuguese there, but there was only one person speaking it. The staff was very friendly, making me feel very comfortable.
Also their parking lot is very limited, but again, there is plenty of street parking all around it.
I will recomend it, as long as you go there with a big apetite.
What happened to this place?.
I first visited this place in January’08 and loved it. The meats were delicious, the service impeccable, the ambiance inviting. Two weeks ago, I had one of the worst dining experiences ever, for the following reasons: 1. The meats were tasteless! Their bacon-wrapped items had just the taste of bacon to it. What a disappointment! I then tried their Mustard Beef Sirloin twice, and the first time I had to salt it to give it even the slightest resemblance of flavor; the second time I couldn't cut through it with my knife, as it was severely undercooked (not to be confused with "rare"). 2. They only had one guy bringing meats, so we felt very hurried; also, he was curt and impolite. Another thing: he would stop by the table next to us with just 1-2 pieces left on a skewer, give all of that to that table, and never come back to serve us the same selection. I don't think I had to tip him to favor our table over our neighbors, did I?.. 3. Our server opened a bottle of wine for us, and then disappeared forever to serve other tables. I'm not a high-maintenance person, but I don't like it when I have to pour wine for myself and my guest in a restaurant of such caliber. 4. They did not have their full menu of meats as they advertise on the website and on the menu. I suspect that some of the items might be seasonal, but I'd like to be informed of what they're out of right away.
Overall, bad service, which I can often tolerate in a restaurant if the food is good, but the food was bad, too! We got an impression that the place is severely understaffed and they’re trying to cut corners, but customers should not be victims of such circumstances for $32/dinner!
