disapointed. We got our drinks right away. But the bartender had to bring mine because the server couldn't remember for likes of her what i ordered she asked me three times. Then we waited for our food for an hour and it was a very slow night. The sever kept saying they are plating it and ignoring us. Needless to say we are never going back there again. Oh and the food is just eh.

Server made the night. I was at Olive or Twist on a S-L-O-W Saturday night. The place was dead, though an older crowd trickled in as the night progressed.

I was there with a decent sized group (there were 10 of us) and, contrary to the responses below, the waiter made the night. He was upbeat and gregarious with a fabulous sense of humor.

Rude Server Ruins the night. I went there this past Friday with a group of friends celebrating...I wasn't impressed to say the least. The drinks were solid, but the service was sassy and unprofessional. I can't say all the servers deserved this insult, but one in particular was sarcastic and clearly not happy with his job. Note to the management - be careful who you hire because they reflect on your establishment. Needless to say because of this guy I wouldn't go back again.

Extremely out of line wait-staff. I was the designated driver last night and not drinking. Our server came for our round and when I ordered a coke he said "do you want a skirt with that". I mentioned that I didn't like being called a skirt by somebody I don't know but received no apology. He delivered the drinks fairly promptly and I noticed my coke had a cherry on top- cute! To my surprise my drink was a very strong rum and coke.

Our server was not around to take my drink back so I went to the bar and complained about the drink and the "skirt" comment.

10 minutes later the server came out to apologize but his version of apology is different than mine. Instead of simply saying "I'm sorry" he went on to tell me how it was an honest mistake and I shouldn't be so bent out of shape, he didn't mean anything by the skirt comment so I should just chill out! The whole time he had this smug grin.

Great customer service you guys got there... a better idea would have been "I'm really sorry for the mistake and the comment".

5 minutes after that he returned full of piss and vinegar because I had used a less than flattering description when I initially returned my drink to the bar and was saying "how dare you call me an ass to my bartender".

At this point I stood up because he was leaning into my face and things got heated... the manager ran over and asked what happened. The server said "I'm going to sit here because I want to here what you have to say" like he was he trying to intimidate me.

We told the manager what happened but by that time there was a fairly large scene brewing with other customers (who hadn't witnessed the events) chiming in about what they thought happened. I quickly paid for my two soda's and my wife's martini and left.

Needless to say we will never go back

Home Away from Home. I love going to Olive or Twist. I am new to the city and to The Pearl. I went to Olive or Twist one night and will continue to call this place home. Sam, the owner, is courteous, friendly and even remembers conversations you may have had the month before. He is a genuine person and he hires like-minded bartenders. I find this place welcoming whether I am alone of with friends. I am so glad that I found it. Have only eatten here once and it was wonderful.

Best Martini. I had a dirty martini that was fabulous and the bartenders are martini experts. Sam, the owner remembered me after several years. I won't wait so long to return.

Delicious Cocktails. My bartender was fabulous. They didn't have the right liquor for what I normally drink so he made something up from scratch and it was fabulous. A unique twist on my usual. From there I kept throwing out different flavors and he suprised me every time! It was trendy, modern, clean, quiet, and intimate. Perfect for a good conversation and a little fun without the crowd pushing you around or fighting for your table.

perfect cocktail spot. sophisticated and romantic.

I love the atmosphere and the selection of top shelf spirits.

It's not for the party crowd who want to inhale cheap cosmos, but to linger over the smoothest gin you've ever tasted.

Quality & Hospitality. I like Olvie or Twist because the owner is extremely hospitable. Go there a few times have a few conversations and he remembers you and your story. The drinks they have are classic cocktails. Don't go expecting anything else. Not really a "S*x in the City" bar where you can get a mango fruiti tuiti blended cosmo martini. BUT they do have a couple of options that might please that crowd. To those who complain about the beer and wine list, hmmm..., look at the name of the bar? It's a cocktail lounge. Part of the fun is the knowledgable owner and bartenders, who actually can give a little insight on some of the drinks! Great atmosphere, nice classic jazz music, good place for a conversation.
