Family owned, run and deliciously crafted Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay's. Beautiful views and a lovely terrace.
Incredible wine, amazing service and beautiful views, but comes with a PRICE.... I visited Bergstrom for the first time a few weeks ago with several friends. We scheduled a tasting appointment and were greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wines offered for tasting were an incredible representation of Oregon Pinots; smooth, innovative and a pedigree above 75% of the other Oregon pinots we've tasted. However, this comes with a price! The twenty-five (25) dollar tasting fee includes 5 small samples and a tour. Our group purchased at least 4 cases combined and not one of their tasting fee(s) were refunded. I find this odd and disappointing. Most of the Oregon Wineries will refund tasting fees with purchase or at least a portion of their fees are waived toward purchase. Or at least offer a glass to walk away with. I would rate this as highly recommended if something in lieu of a few splashes of great wine were offered for their very steep tasting fee, but that is not the way the do it. Unfortunately, the economy across this nation does not support this kind of conduct and many people would never be able to afford to buy nor taste the wonderful wines Bergstrom offers. Another story where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer....
Great wine, but horrible service.... Okay, so Bergstrom does have great wine.... If you're a wine lover, it's worth the taste. But, you might want to do your tasting somewhere else, or decide that poor service is not worth your time for any wine tasting. A couple of other local wineries recommended that we also do a tasting at Bergstrom. We've heard of them so we headed over to them for a tasting. Honestly, the wine is fantastic. But, we were soooooo rushed through our tasting that we could not enjoy it! They also charge a tasting fee, so you would think that they would at least let you enjoy what you're paying for.... The lady working behond the counter even made a comment that she wanted to get out of there and we were cutting it "close." Does anyone else think this is rude? We went in there with at least 20 minutes before closing. Also, when we walked in- there were at least 6-7 other people in there still enjoying their wine. So, we couldn't have been cutting it that "close." Anyways, we were already there so we tasted and left.... again, wine was good but the service ruined it. I still have to let the other wineries that recommended Bergstrom of our experience. I haven't had a chance to go by yet, but I think they should know that they're sending their customers over to some rude service. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't think just because you know you have great wine gives you the right to treat people so rudely. True wine lovers know... that you don't want to have to guzzle down your wine because a tasting room personnel is rushing you..... or for any other reason.....
