I can stand suki's on a normal night without the karoke. because the faboulous kj is always raining men at half past ten. Its too dark, no ventilation for the smokers.
Pros: Free pool, great service.

Ok so I have been to Suki's like 20 times now over the past 12 months and I must say that it is one of the best places to be in portland. I have spent many nights at other Karaoke/Comedy clubs and I must say that the "Dive" that is Suki's is the one I think is worth the most. This crusty little jewel of a bar has a "Ratpack" feel to the regulars but as an outsider you totally feel comfortable joining in the fun. Of the 4 Comedy shows I have caught have been pretty racey, not for the timid or easily offended. Dax Jordan is your host on Comedy night, this guy is much funnier than most of his open mic comedians, but there is a few like Veronica Heath and Lonnie Bruhn that make some of the others worth sitting through.. Oh and Josh something the tall southern comic is a total riot too... The other nights I have been at Suki's have always been Karaoke nights. The people are diverse and friendly.. The regulars are friendly and some are stunningly talented and very nice to look at too.. But the real heart of Suki's is the Excellent Bartenders, Lisa, Nikki and Brad these three make you feel like your at "Your" Bar... they might not remember what your favorite drink is but they will remember your face and welcome you back. They are plesant and very quick on the pour. Lisa is the beautiful sassy blonde behind the bar and Nikki is one of the most beautiful people I have ever had a chance to talk to.. she is also a fantastic mixologist. I have only had Brad serve me a couple of times but he can keep up with the girls in the drink slinging and he seems to be a real good fit with the girls behind the bar.. Plus the guy can sing Karaoke and pour beer at the same time. didn't even miss a note. I think I have given up the boiler room and the other Karaoke places, Suki's feels like "my" bar now.. So I guess I am going to hang out there.. Hope to see you..
