Good food, good service. A little spendy for what you get, but a nice, intimate setting.
My favorite place, people and food!!. This unique restaurant is not only one of my favorite places to just stop in for high quality food, but because of the high level of professional staff and managers that make this a successful classy restaurant!! I love the atmosphere knowing I can walk in with my family and friends and be welcomed and greeted ( and seated) with great pride!! I personally go into this place for different occasions such as group parties, bring my children after a sport event, meet friends and family to dine here. It is my favorite place to go in and have a drink, but the knowledge that the manager has in creating his menu ideas and for special occasions for parties i have held there, or such as the successful brewers fest dinner I attended last year! I seriously could live on their food here! The actual General manager has a background in being a Chef by trade but I see him helping out in all areas of the restaurant. Seriously having a background in New York and I know this because "Yes" I am a regular, along with many friends and family. People that come from out of town to visit will leave Edgefield to come here. The staff has always been very accommodating and the food is high quality. I work for the City and know of a ton of places to eat in the Portland Metro Area, but Bumpers is still my favorite place..It is comfortable, fun, excellent level of service and high quality food. PS the manager has set out balloons or put on the reader board for birthdays or special event of a customer. He goes out of his way to accommodate whichever event he tailors to. The staff there is very happy, friendly and will always do what they can to please. The employment there is where the staff members have been there for years, not a big turn and another reason how come they get the same regulars that come back, they treat everyone with respect and professional! Rude staff. I work for a nearby employer and have, on several occassions, arranged for a large group to eat at Bumpers. After my last experience, I will never go back and they were rude on the phone, they were unaccomodating and rude to my friends and myself when we arrived. It was clear that we were "in the way". When we asked to see the owner she was too lazy to come to our table and she told the waiter that if we wanted to talk to her, we would have to go to her office where she had no interest in our reasonable requests. We picked our entire party of 15 up (paid for our drinks and tipped the poor waiter of course) and went to McMinnamins were we were treated like guests. None of us will ever return. The worst restaurant that I can remember being at in Pdx. My wife and I were in Fairview, and needed to find somewhere to eat. We went to Bumpers, and it was beautiful when we entered, with the gorgeous fish tanks. We told the guy who sat us, who we later found out was the manager, that it was our first time there. He told us all about how fresh their meat is, and when my wife mentioned that I am a vegetarian, instead of telling me about some good vegetarian options on their menu, he just said, "Well I'm sure that she knows some people who aren't vegetarians."! He took our order. I ordered the small size of my meal. I selected one of the add-ons, which was sauteed mushrooms. When my food came, there were no mushrooms. I just wanted to eat and get going from that stuffy atmosphere, so I didn't mention that the mushrooms were missing, Food was average. When the bill came, I saw that they had charged me for the large size of my meal, when I had ordered the small. Our waiter said that the manager had put the wrong size order in, and the waiter hadn't known about it. He checked with the manager about the pricing issue. The manager didn't even come out himself to apologize. Instead he sent the waiter back out to tell us that the manager said to still charge us for the large meal since that is what I had eaten. (It was only an average-size meal anyway.) I couldn't believe it! And then the waiter said that that is what happens when managers take orders, they always mess them up! We left and stopped at the strip mall a block away at a delightful coffee shop for coffee and dessert. View Less … View More
Are you kidding me with this?. My boyfriend and i went to Bumpers on valentines day, after i researched on the internet for a great place to have dinner. When we got there they seated us next to a giant fish tank with one foot away from the next table, wich were staring at us because we just happened to be glowing blue from the lights. We asked to be moved and they seated us in the banquet room. The tables were so low we had to lean down on them it was uncomfortable! The waitress forgot our appetizer, the ribs tasted like watery sweet vineger (gross!) The potatoes tasted like they were rancid and the vegetables were uncooked. We were charged 15 dollars for a martini sized drink . We never got our appetizer, we paid 80 dollars for a meal we couldn't eat and were very uncomfortable at their low lawn furniture with a sheet thrown over it! We won't be back! View Less … View More
