Best Hair Architect in Portland. I was in need of someone who would look at my hair and know exactly what to do. Alan is the MAN! Amazing haircut. Wondrous blowout! I always look forward to my next experience.

Friendly Salon and Stylist. Super friendly staff and Stylist. I have gone through a string of hair stylists in the last couple years and none of them stuck. I have super curly hair that most hair dressers find to be challenging to say the least. After reading so many wonderful reviews, I decided to check Alan out for myself. When I called to make an appointment I was told that Alan loves cutting curly hair and is extremely talented at it.

I enjoyed my entire experience. From the head massage when shampooing and conditioning my hair, to the atmosphere, friedly staff, and conversation, Alan exceeded my expectations. My hair has a really great vertical shape now which makes it so much more manageable. He asked that I call in a couple of days to let him know how I was liking it but instead of calling I just decided I would let the stars speak for themselves. Thanks Alan

The name says it all.... The folks at Nurture know how to take care of my hair needs, but provide nourishment to my body, mind and spirit. I recommend any of the stylists depending on what you are able to afford, but my guy is Alan Mandarano. I have for many years seen a barber every two weeks and kept my hair super short. Alan and Natalie (his wife and Nurture founder) convinced me to let it grow and the feedback from family and friends is that they like my hair longer. More importantly, I like it longer too and now can go almost a month without cutting it. The space is colorful and creative. They support local artists by allowing them to display their work on their walls. They also have an amazing selection of hair care products for any budget or hair type. Finally, every visit reminds me of the importance of humor and fun in life. If your searching for an updated, fresh look or just a new stylist, check out Alan, Beth, Natalie, Sarah and Stephanie and one of them will surely hook you up.

Excellent Stylist. Alan Mandarano, a stylist @ Nurture salon has done wonders for my hair. Wanting a change, I booked an appointment with Alan, based on other reviews I had come across. He put me at ease straight away and the results were fabulous (cut & color). Thanks to all that recommended Alan, he sure was a good fit for me.

Best Stylist in Portland. Alan Mandarano, a talented colorist & stylist at Nurture Salon has a private room where he performs his services. He is trained in European techniques and is very knowledgeable and informative about each process he executes. I felt extremely comfortable and well taken care of. I received the best cut and color of my life on my first visit and I will be seeing Alan for the rest of my hair coloring days. The cutting techniques that he uses are tailored to each individual and I must say I, and my co-workers, were blown away at the movement in my hair after the service. Thank you Alan for educating me on my hair care needs. Oh yeah, the products that he has for sell are all from Milan, Italy and are "The Best", my hair has never felt so healthy. I could go on and on..............friendly salon, great atmosphere, excellent hairdresser.

Relaxing environment, highly skilled stylists. I have been going to Natalie (the owner) for many years now, since its inception, and have always walked out feeling listened to, taken care of and having relaxed. She has created a salon that is good for your looks and (as cheesy as it sounds) restful for your soul. She has always worked to make the environment positive and upbeat in a very real and down-to-earth way. On top of this I get more than a few compliments on my hair after each new cut. I have sent both friends and acquaintances to Natalie, all whom have called me afterwards thanking me and loving their new look. If you are looking for a salon with top talent and no BS, I can not recommend Nurture more!
