THE WORST SANDWICH IN PORTLAND.
I never thought I would ever write a review like this, however after having lunch there the other day feel a moral obligation to write the following:
I was my way to work noticed a rather cute little place with a sign out front saying "The best sandwich in Portland" without a second thought I told my friend all about it and proceeded to meet her there for lunch. The first thing I noticed was when ordering a "Tuna" sandwich which must be one of the easiest things to make but was told by the gentlemen behind the counter that they were out and it takes a long time to make up there tuna salad??? Ok, so I ordered a Ham and Swiss, thinking that should be easy, my friend ordered a Turkey bagel. After about 10 minutes our number was called and up we went for our prize sandwiches, to my complete disappointment my sandwich has a big dark colored wet spot on the top?? Oh well so there not the best a pleasing the eye, but does it taste good? One bit and I could not even CHEW it; I then proceeded to spit the sandwich into my plate. The entire sandwich has maybe 2 slices of what looked like store bought budding lunch meat, even when I tried to spread it out it would not cover the bread, the mayo was stale and one little “tiny” slice of cheese, it was truly the "Worst" Sandwich I have ever had, I then took the plate with the uneaten sandwich up to the counter and let the gentlemen know that this sandwich was inedible, he looked at me and gave me a $5.00 refund, which is funny because I payed nearly $8.00 for the sandwich??? My friend did eat her bagel however like mine there was very little meat 11/2 slices of cucumber and if there were tomato’s they were unnoticeable. Sorry about this review but I am hoping the owner will read this and make some very needed changes.
Tiny's is the best Coffee Shop in Portland. I hang out at the Tiny's on 12th and Hawthorne for hours most weekdays. I love the super fast free wi-fi for World of Warcraft, the delicious sandwiches, and the best coffee I have ever had. I used to be an SCAA judge, so I know coffee. Trust me, these folks are amazing. The best I've had so far was made by the new manager. She has a real gift for pulling the perfect shot. Strangely, the coffee is cheap. I haven't been to the green hell that is Starbucks in a long time, but the prices at Tiny's seem half what Starbucks charges - at most. Try a grilled sandwich if you go - they are so good.
Stumptown, Sandwiches, big window, free internet... what else do you need?.
I have been a 'coffee shop' hopper for sometime now, and I feel like I finally found my favorite place.
It serves Stumptown coffee first off, hurray! They have amazingly tall windows which lets in top notch natural light. So far all the music has been stuff that is easy to listen to and peppy. Their sandwiches are great.
The people who work here are very polite and good at the jobs, as it seems and I just feel a little happier whenever I'm here.
Whoo Tinys! Finally, a great place to write and have good coffee!
cheerful place to get coffee. staff is very friendly, and it goes a long way towards making me want to go there more than other coffee shops nearby. plus they have Stumptown coffee which is the best local coffee in pdx. i like to get here early before lots of people come in. it starts my day off right.
coffee delux :).
This place rocks! hands down the fastest wifi in town. I love the sammys and the soups are yummy !
Kind of like my office away from the office. great staff and pretty chill low stress place. friendly and easy on the eyes staff. tall ceilings and good for groups of people and solo.
