Best place for curly hair!. I will only get my hair cut by devacurl certified hair stylists, and I was not disappointed by Lee! He was fantastic! It was the perfect cut. If you have curly hair, you have to try the devacurl products. I used to go the devachan salon in New York, and went to one of their top trained stylists in DC, and ever since I refuse to get my hair cut by anyone not trained at their school in NY. Lee knows all about the right cut for curly hair, and about using the right product, because using the right product really matters!!

craptastic. I just got may hair cut with Lee at Kiss Kiss. I could have done a better job with a box cutter. I have curly hair, which is supposed to be his specialty. I normally would not care so much about getting a bad hair cut but he talked about how awesome he was the whole time, I guess I just expected to not look like a 10 year old girl when I left. My hair has no shape, and it does not hold the curl the same way it used to. I would go back to get it fixed, but I do not want him touching my hair again. SO now I have to go drop another $45 somewhere else and hope someone can fix this. I never write reviews, especially bad ones, but I guess I am a little bitter.

Best Place in Town for Curly Hair. I heard from a friend that Kiss Kiss salon is the place to go in Portland to get a curly girl's hair cut. The salon is right on the Max line in North Portland, but is in a converted house and was a little hard to spot.

The atmosphere is low-key but it is a lovely place: big windows, spotlessly clean, elegant stations and decor. Lee cut my hair and he was phenomenal. I have hair that varies from ringlets to waves and finding a stylist is next to impossible. He had told me on the phone to bring my hair as curly as it gets, and counseled me for a long time before he cut it dry to maintain each curl. Then he washed my hair with "no poo" non-detergent shampoo for curly hair and put me in a special low heat, curly girl dryer to see how it would look afterwards. He showed me how to air dry my hair at home naturally to maintain curl and did not pressure me at all to buy products while still explaining the benefits of the ones that he used on my hair. Lee gave me so many good tips and such a good cut, I felt very comfortable and relieved to have found him! And best of all, after 2 bad haircuts in a row, my husband was astounded by the difference when I got home.
