Worst Pho in Portland.
I love Pho and I have eaten at nearly a dozen Vietnamese restaurants in the Portland area. Pho Thien is the worst I have had! The shrimp in the salad rolls was old and should not have been served. The peanut sauce that came with the rolls was runny and tasteless, the rolls themselves were mostly iceburg lettuce aside from the little chunk of meat that kinda looked like a leftover from another meal... I don't have much to say about the Pho other than that it did not taste fresh and it was overly salted. The only good thing at Pho Thien was the vegetable plate that came with the Pho. It had a nice amount of sprouts and basil and two nice large pieces of lime.
Pho Thien? Pho bien!.
I have been to many Vietnamese restaurants in the Portland/Oregon City area and Pho Thien is by far my favorite. Not only is their pho savory and their ingredients fresh, they offer large portions for relatively cheap and their customer service is amazing! They're always more than friendly and cearly willing to please. I make the trip out to Pho Thien whenever possible when I'm in the mood for pho, despite the drive for me. As a matter of fact, I'm going there tonight to introduce pho to a friend.
To whoever wrote the review about their food being old and not very tasty, you clearly don't have much experience with Vietnamese cuisine (as you stated yourself). In good time you'll soon realize that Pho Thien is one of the best pho restaurants you can possibly eat at.
The only negative review I have for this restaurant is that they changed its original paint job which happened to be pink, so now it's not nearly as noticable when driving by. Every pho-lover deserves to know about this place.
My all-time favorite Pho restaurant.
I've been a fan of pho from the first time I had it. I've been to several pho restaurants, and this one is definitely my favorite. The food is delicious, and served in generous portions. The staff is friendly and inviting. And the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean. I no longer live in the Portland area, but whenever I visit, this is the first restaurant I want to eat at.
If you like Pho, try Pho Thien.
The person who said Pho Thien is "Not worth the money" is an idiot. Ive tried Pho at many different places and was not disapointed at all!! after going here. i was somewhat skeptical about trying Pho Thien after reading his review. but when i got there it was very clean inside the ingredients were all very fresh and the pho was delicious! the owners were all very friendly, and it was reasonably priced. all in all enjoyed it and will definitely go there many more times. do not listen to the other guys review!!
