Portland >Bangkok Corner
A great find for delicious Thai. I recently dined at Bangkok Corner and thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The Pad Thai was one of the best I have ever had and the Massuman curry was superb, as well. The portion sizes were large and the meal started with complimentary spring rolls. I was impressed by the beer list, which consisted of micro brews at a very inexpensive price. I spoke to the owner and he told me he rotates the micro brew selection. The dining experience was wonderful and I look forward to eating here again.
Favorite Thai Restaurant!!.
I try to visit Bangkok Corner at least once a month. The atmosphere and food is great. I usually order the Orange Chicken, Massamun Curry, Yellow Curry, or have them suprise me and I'm never disappointed. My wife loves their Fresh rolls and peanut sauce. We have taken lots of friends here and they all enjoy it. A couple we took here changed their preference from E-san Thai in downtown. they said the food they enjoyed tasted the same and the parking is better. Their desserts are great as well. The coconut ice cream is great and the purple rice is good also.
I highly recommend this restaurant.
Stay away. I just got home to enjoy my first thai in months and i chose Bangkok Corner. Big mistake. Prices are higher for take out for whatever reason. I paid 12 bucks for Pad Thai and sticky rice where i could have paid 10 bucks or less while staying there. The sticky rice was old, hard, and chewy. The Pad Thai was flavorless. Not recommended!
Fresh ingredients, great Pad Thai, overall yumminess.
I was really happy with the dinner we had at Bangkok Corner. The Pad Thai was light with lots of vegetables (not too gloppy), the Tom Yum was a perfect amount of sweet and hot, and the chef's special lemongrass curry dish was a great variation on the general theme of Thai curry dishes.
The staff was professional/prompt/friendly, and it was fun to peer back into what we could make out of the semi-exposed kitchen.
Highly recommended, and we will go back soon.
Avoid the Shrimp and Flash-Fried Tofu.
The Evil Prince curry with tofu was good and was the only good thing we had. The fried tofu appetizer was sour tasting, dry and the dipping sauce was watery. The dryness could be on account of the delivery time, although the food was still hot. It is possible the don't marinate the tofu at all, so it just tastes like uninspired plain fried tofu. The Pad Thai wasn't bad, but the shrimp tasted like they had been sitting around all day, dry and the vein area was kind of dry and mushy. Would have been a half-decent Pad Thai otherwise. There are no desserts, at least not on the delivery menu anyways. I always look for brown rice, but I did not find it here.
I might try it again and avoid certain items.
Great thai food I would recomend to anyone who liks thai food. I read the revews and I don't know what that other person is talking about. Must have been another thai place because I have not been disapointed with this one.
Decent thai. It was pretty good. I had egg rolls and some noodle dish. The noodles had just the right amount of spicyness. The veggie egg rolls were crisp and hot. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. Would recommend it to those in the neighborhood looking for thai closeby.
