I have been learning from Family Martial Arts Academy since 2007. I have always encountered proficient, intelligent, fun practitioners who have encouraged the best out of me. I can't imagine training anywhere else and doing as well.
Family martial arts academy is great place for families. They have fun classes for people of all ages. I have been with this school for 5 years and i love it and recommend it for anyone interested in martial arts.
Oregon's Best Martial Ats Academy.
I have known Sensei Paul Keller for nearly 15 years, and have found him to be the best instructor I"ve ever had. I am currently studying qi gong with him, and that has been so healing after a year of dealing with cancer. This is where the Internal Arts such as meditation and qi gong play a huge part in healing. Once again I feel a whole, spiritual person who is always in the moment. One learns mindfulness from all of the martial and internal arts.
My son, daughter and husband all studied Okinawan Karate with Sensei Keller beginning 15 years ago, and they have their black belts repectively: 3rd degree black belt with 2nd degree in weapons; 2nd degree black belt; and first degree black belt. Recently my son's life was threatened on a French train, and he was able to put the attackers on the ground as well as take a knife away from the one who tried to use it. Without his excellent training in karate and fast reflexes, he would have not succeeded in capturing his assailants.
Our family has learned so much from Sensei Keller, not just "karate lessons", but also discipline, true compassion for others, and a spirituality which includes
mindfulness. For this we are very grateful.
Family Martial Arts did wonders for my daughter. My daughter has been with Family Martial Arts for 1 year and 1/2 and she loves going. I was looking for some type of program to put her into because she was having trouble in school being agressive towards the other kids.I will be honest and wasnt sure if this would fuel the fire so to speach or help her. I am so lucky to have found this program. From day one they really took the time to work with her to work out her anger issues and learn different ways to handle situations. She has learned self control. After just a few months she was a different kid and has come so far this past year. They all do a great job there and I would highly recommend this school to anyone. It has truely made a difference for us and our life.
Amazing progam for my 4yr old.
My son joined the program at Family Martial Arts Academy this spring and we LOVE it! He is 4yrs old and has thoroughly enjoyed the program. All of the instructors are amazing and do a great job with the kids in the Tiny Tigers age group.
My son constantly asks if it is the day to go to class, so I would say he is very motivated to attend class!
I also like that they encourage reading at home as well as doing "jobs" at home. I think it is a very well-rounded program and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Love sensei Paul Keller's karate classes.
My 4 and 6 years old boys, my husband and I are all taking karate lessons at the Beaverton Family Martial Arts Academy for several months now.
It’s been great. The kids’ movement – coordination has improved noticeably, and they getting a great exercise they need. They also are thought to be respectful. This is a great reinforcement to when I try to teach them the same thing at home.
The instructors are great with the kids, and highly skilled. They do make the kids work hard, but make it fun for them at the same time, my kids love going there. My husband and I have signed up too, this gives us a great chance to do a work out, and learn self-defense at the same time. This is such a good thing for us, as we both have a sitting-by-the-computer-all-day kind of a job.
I recommend this karate school for any age.
Great program for ADHD children. My Son loves going, he has ADHD and using Karate to help teach him focus and control. It is an awesome program and the instructors are great. They make it fun, but with discipline to keep him on track. Thank you Sensei Keller.
The place to be!!. I’ve been training in martial arts for over 15 years. After visiting numerous martial art schools, I can definitely say that Family Martial Arts Academy is the best bang for your buck! If you are searching in the Beaverton area, and are looking for quality instruction, then Family Martial Arts is the place for you. I love the atmosphere at Family Martial Arts Academy. They provide a safe, clean, & FUN training environment for the entire family.
martial arts near Portland. As a newcomer to the martial arts world, I have been looking around Beaverton / Tigard for a while trying to find a gym with a good atmosphere. I have found it in Family martial arts Academy. Their martial arts classes are the best I've been to. The workout is phenomenal and the instruction is first class. I highly recommend training here for mma or martial arts! Their kids program is gaining national recognition and their chief instructor, 8th degree Black Belt Paul Keller is truly a master!
Martial Arts Classes. I have been training martial arts for over 15 years and I found that Family Martial Arts Academy is a “top of the line” school for any skill level (beginner to advance). The instructors are friendly and truly care for their students. Family Martial Art classes are great for anyone looking to learn self-defense, get in shape, and be around friendly people. I would highly recommend training at Family Martial Arts Academy, it will change your life!
