What Our Expert Scouts Say

Vege Thai
April 30, 2013

Before I fully understood the concept of faux flesh, I kept wondering why the "chicken" in this meatless Thai place's BBQ skewers had such a funny texture. So yeah, no, sometimes I am not the sharpest steak knife in the drawer. If you're embracing an animal-free meal plan or it's just Meatless Monday, their good, fresh food and peaceful ambiance will hit the spot.

Serving vegan Thai food exclusively. A great lunch spot in a great location. Friendly service.

Bad Atmosphere, Bad Food, Bad Service. The interior of this place feels really cheap like an office. The food is bland too. The service is ok, but nothing to write home about. Waste of $25.00.

Great Food Where You Never Worry about Fish Oils or Chicken Broth!!. My husband and I love this place. Being vegetarians we can order at Vege Thai with confidence that there are no fish oils, chicken broth, etc. We love the yellow curry. Be sure to order medium or hot spicy if you want a little bit more bite and taste. Otherwise it comes very, very mild and could be called bland if you are used to spicy food. If you like mild foods, then the flavor will be perfect for you. Our other favorite dish is the Pad Ki Mow (noodles). We order with mushrooms instead of bamboo shoots. We usually choose tofu as our protein source. Again, if you are used to spicy, then you have to ask for it. We just tried a new item: Vege Rolls. This has soy ham in it and we had to keep taking a double take as it was really close to the real thing. It is a small place, but we love it that way. It's our little hole in the wall. "Hole in the Walls" are where you usually find the best kept secrets. We travel from Aloha to eat here. We consider it worth it when we are hungry for Thai food. A must try restaurant!!

Curries - nothing to write home about. I had a curry dish and a "pepper steak" dish, both of which were sort of disappointing. The curry was bland and spiceless - they could do much better. The "pepper steak" had a fun texture, but didn't get me too worked up. I won't be going back - try someplace more authentic.

Recommended thai place for veggies and non-veggies alike. This place is awesome. The spring roll appetizers were good, also the sweet and sour sauce that came with them were not thick and syrupy like other thai places. I had the glass noodles with the soy chicken and it was delicious. The pad thai with soy pepper steak was good also. I was kind of disappointed that they were all out of sticky rice, but other than that it was a great dining experience. Quiet, fast service and good food. I'll definitely be going here again.

Great vegetarian thai food. Every time I've been to Vege Thai I've had a great experience. Everything is vegetarian. The restaurant is very small, but the service is always fast, and the food is great, particularly the phad thai w/ tofu. The appetizer combo plate is to die for (and the soy chicken is surprisingly good). I do have to say that I wasn't impressed the one time I ordered the sweet & sour tofu, but otherwise everything else I have had is delicious. If you like thai and vegetarian food, this is the place to go.
