Were they stoned or just stupid?. For some a job is a chore. But if you are a waiter, a waitress, or a host, your guests don’t want to know it. Blossoming Lotus’ wait staff does not care about their customers. Totally unconcerned. The food is good, not bad. Regular, not creative.

When sat, we then waited for 30 minutes for a soup without a spoon. It had gone cold before the utensil was brought. An hour past before we complained about not having our meal yet. The waitress never smiled or showed any sign of emotion. Even when I complained she simply gave us the food for free and shrugged.

The soup smelled wonderful to a hungry customer, I never tasted it. The menu’s subtext “vegan, healthy, sustainable” sat next to utensils on a paper napkin. And the Kombucha was not house made and four dollars a bottle! I swear you could make a gallon of the stuff for that cost.

I will give it another chance if I’m hungry enough. But the B.L. failed a first attempt.

Very Good food, creative menu. Check this place out, it's the only vegan restaurant I've been to that's actually got plenty of flavor.

Expensive. Crazy prices.

Slow service.

Signs on the tables read:

"Do not talk too loudly, it might disturb the yoga practitioners" and "Bus your own table".

I will never return.

OK food but poor service. When I have a desire for good, simple vegetarian food, I often think of Blossoming Lotus. But from experience, I've learned to call ahead and order "to go". Be warned! Never eat here if you are really hungry or in a hurry. The staff move at a snails pace and don't seem to think that a 45 to 60 minute wait for food is unreasonable. I mean, this is very basic food. Rice and beans (which are already made) and steamed vegetables. Not exactly "haute cuisine" and should not take that long to prepare.

Good vegan food. Seating takes time. Not kid friendly. Shares space with yoga studio. The food is excellent and fresh. It is so fresh that it leaves you craving for more once you finish eating. Now, the negatives, the restaurant has too few tables and the seating is cramped. We had to wait for close to 40 minutes for a table. The next table was too close for comfort to me and I was able to overhear the whole conversation though I did not want to. The food was amazing and I really loved the platter that my husband ordered. Their juices are great too.. Parking is a problem especially if you dont want to pay to park, but this is a problem with any restaurant in the Pearl and hence can be overlooked.

I dont think the place is kid friendly as the wait time makes adults run out of patience. I am sure kids would not wait quietly there(Quiet is important as the restaurant shares its space with a Yoga studio).

Summary: Go there if you crave for good Vegan food and wont complain about wait times and cramped seating!

Artfully prepared, organic vegan food with unique flavor integration. I have visited this restaurant several times and I have always been pleased. The menu provides many options for vegans, those with dietary restrictions, and those chosing to embrace new flavors and healthier cuisine. They are all artfully prepared to order (hence the wait sometimes) and are very tasty. The wait staff are down-to-earth and the atmosphere is sunny and comforting. The alternative milk (soy, hemp) smoothies are a great after work or workout snack. I recommend this place to anyone searching for healthy foods and lifestyle. Warning: there are no unhealthy options here.

Great food, zombie servers, sweaty atmosphere. Went there on the basis of recommendations. The food is excellent, but....be prepared for a lengthy wait (30-40 minutes) from the time you order until food arrives, even when there are not that many customers. The servers had zero personality, made no effort to be friendly or welcoming. One person in our party had iced tea, and asked if they did free refills. The waiter responded, no we'll just bring you a new glass. What he failed to make clear is that they were also charging for the extra drink. We requested a particular dessert. The waiter came back and said they were out of it, and here's your bill. No apology, or asking if there was something else we might be interested in, just--here's your bill, now get out of here kinda attitude. For anyone who hasn't been there, you need to be aware that the seating area shares space with a yoga studio, and sweaty bodies mill about the area. The restroom doubles as a locker room for the studio. I entered the mens restroom only to be greeted by a man emerging from the shower (in his birthday suit)--well, hello to you too. If none of this is unsettling to you, then you have a stronger stomach than I do. This restaurant could be a top-rated place on the basis of its food, but the poor service and odd ambience are major drawbacks.

Best Vegan Food-- Anywhere!. You won't find the flavors here in places like Tin Shed, Vita Cafe, or Paradox Cafe (which are also great restaurants). Totally unique. A bit of Mediterranean, maybe? Eh, whatever it is... it's delicious! I took some cookies to work today and had everyone fooled. No one believed that they were vegan. :]

I looooove Blossoming Lotus. This is right down the street from my school and I love going there. All their food is vegan, and they even have raw options which is really rare. The food is amazing! The smoothies are awsome, and they have so many vegan desserts! Cookies, fudge, soft serve, vegan strawberry shortcake! Some of it is a little too "healthy tasting" for me... my taste buds aren't equiped to handle the raw foods yet. The staff is nice... they are very laidback. So be prepared for "laidback" service. I can see that many people who have written reviews are peeved about the service... but it's not the workers fault that the area is small and they get very busy during dinner and lunch hours. Seriously... they don't even have enough room to walk around.. you would have a hard time being smiley too. Before judgeing them for their attittude, look at the surroundings and how busy they are. They don't have a huge line because their slow, it's because people who are ordering are slow and because they can only fit so many people back there to prepare. Everything is freshly prepared so it takes a little time... I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for something to go. Sometimes you might catch one or two people lolly-gagging when business is slow... but this isn't the norm. GO there! It's awsome ^_^ oh! and they make fresh Juices too!

Small Space, Huge Experience. Wow this little cafe has AMAZING food. All vegan and organic. What a way to set the bar for sustainability. Our server Kris (i think) was so helpful and made the small space seem much more comforting. My husband and I are from out of town and were not expecting such great food from such a little cafe. We are not even vegans. We were very impressed. I tried the chef special of the night which was a tofu-mushroom stroganoff. I could not believe there was no dairy in it. The chef said he made it creamy with cashews. I never even thought to do this at home. My husband ate the live taco salad and couldn't believe how satisfying it was. He really loved the raw nacho chips that came with it. Best of all it was reasonably priced especially concerning the fact all the ingredients were organic. Wish we had Blossoming Lotus in our town. We will be back soon.
