Wonderful dining experience. We had a delightful Sunday brunch in July and decided to return for dinner in September. The food was excellent, as was the ambiance. Highly recommend!
Great Happy Hour & wonderful ambience!. If you are looking for a spectacular view, with great food, and refreshing cocktails, Riverview Restaurant is the place to go! Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoor seating, overlooking the Sandy River, while enjoying their fabulous Happy hour and a glass of wine from their extensive list. They never fail to impress!
Great Service and the Food is Great. Try the Calamari!.
We've visited the Riverview several times. We love the food, the atmosphere and especially the service.
We have never had a problem with our orders. In fact, we often have so much food that we have to take some home with us. I'm surprised by the complaints about service. Everyone is always so nice and helpful. The chef has even come out on several occassions to see if we enjoyed our meal. Our favorites are the calamari on the appetizer menu. BEST in town! Not chewy like most places. And the Salmon- mouth watering. The wine selection is also great. Bradford, our waiter, has steered us in the right direction on more than one occassion. Try it, you'll love it!
Luke warm food and mediocre service. We arrived early and we knew we'd have to wait so it wasn't a big deal; however, the lobby filled up past capacity very quickly and they wouldn't seat people until 10:00am which is when the brunch started. It was also freezing inside, as well as, outside. Once we were able to start the buffet; the food was luke warm at best, the maple syrup was cold not even room temperature. We also found a hair in the french toast and when we showed our waiter, Treve, he just said "Ok" and took the plate. We would've appreciated an apology or some sort of acknowledgement other than OK. On the way out we told the hostess and got the same reaction, so needless to say we will not be going back.
Spring is back...so is their fabulous brunch.
Finally spring has arrived in the Pacific Northwest and its highlighted with Sunday Brunch being served at the Riverview. Run, don't walk for an opportunity to have a wonderful experience with great food at a lovely restaurant. Perfect location for a special Mother's Day gathering (book your reservations now) or other celebrations.
Recently we treated friends to Riverviews fabulous Brunch and all left remarking we will be back again soon. The Brunch is buffet style with various food islands, carving stations and made-to-order crepes and omelets. Everything prepared was perfect, as was the service.
Go for a meal...stay and make a marvelous memory!!!
Best of the best!. The Riverview Restaurant in Troutdale in its gorgeous setting next to the Sandy River offers upscale but comfortable ambiance with tempting menu offerings. Executive Chef Ryan Hampton never fails to please our palate! The monthly wine pairing dinners is an event not to miss! Don't wait for a special occasion to treat yourselves.
Extremely disappointed in the Riverview!.
What once was a pleasurable dinning experience has now become a major disappointment!
The menu has become limited, items aren't always available, and quite honestly prices have become outrageous. I by no means have a problem spending for wonderful food, wonderful customer service and a wonderful experience, unfortunately all of that has been lacking in my last few visits.
It's quite apperant that The Riverview is relying solely on it's location and ambiance now, and hasn't paid close enough attention to the finer details that actually make for a wonderful time. The feeling of being rushed away from my table by a wait staff that is eager to free your seats along with the idea that the menu items have stayed the same over the past year, but the options aren't always available, is very aggrivating.
Unfortunately, I can't in good conscience, recommend The Riverview as a fine dinning experience. I'll take my business elsewhere, where I feel like the customer and my dollar is valued!
Two horrible experiences. Don't waste money!.
After enjoying a few business meals mid day, I opted to go for a celebration dinner. I was very disappointed in the food, the atmosphere and entire experience. It was late at night, I heard employees in kitchen talking loudly cussing and telling inappropriate jokes. Our special dinner turned to the negative quickly. If this was not enough, they didn't have available most items on their menu and we were left with few options. The food was bad, the service was worse and I left questioning if this was a one time negative experience.
As I appreciate small local dining, we opted to try again. Again, late in evening and we had an even worse time. Again, lousy service...actually RUDE service. The food again left so much to be desired. I know there are not many options on this side of town, but I will drive anywhere to get a better experience than I did at Riverview. I no longer recommend this place to friends or associates.
Sad to see what had been a nice establishment go down the drain due to poor staff. I did take the time to leave feedback with the executive chef who no less brushed it off and pretty much told me he didn't care if he lost my service and that of my colleagues. I was shocked at the rude care and lack of attention to detail.
This place is overpriced and apparently can choose its customers such that it doesn't care if it leaves a good impression. I will not waste another dollar here and will save my hard earned income for those who appreciate good customers.
Don't waste your time or money here. You will be disappointed by the food, prices and service!
Amazing experience!.
After eating the fare of most of the restaurants in Portland, this place is an oasis!!
The food...ambiance...and service is top notch.
My wife and 82 year old Mother and I went to the Sunday brunch. It is to die for.
Everyone in greater Portland needs to go there at least once!!
Bests Valentines Ever. I was a bit hesitant do to the full parking lot (we normally hit the quite hole-in-the-walls). Once we were inside, we were taken away. Busy yes, cramped no. We were seated between one of their fireplaces and the piano! Between the feel of the fire, and the musicians close enough to make a request from our table, it was a great start. By the end of the fifth course, we had been wined and dined into euphoric submission. Great food, great service. Even in this full room we didn't feel like we were sharing our evening with the other guests (of which my wife and I have become accustomed to downtown). Great job guys. I can't believe this has been here all along.
