Essure Permanent Sterilization Procedure

I had the new permanent Essure sterilization procedure completed at Aethena Gynecology by Dr. Leslie Struxness. The procedure was done with a local anesthetic in the office and was virtually painless except for minor period like cramping and spotting that lasted about 4 hours after the procedure. The procedure itself lasted only 20 minutes.
By the evening I had no cramping at all! By the next day, I felt totally normal. I would recommend this procedure to anyone looking for an alternative to Tubal Ligation or Vasectomy.
Dr. Struxness was very informative, caring and did an excellent job during the procedure. I would recommend her to anyone thinking about having this done.

- Cons: Minor pain with the first initial numbing shot.
