yum!.
i've only been for breakfast, but the food was delicious (eggnog pancakes!) and our server super friendly and attentive. the portions are generous- i was only able to eat half of my scramble, potatoes and toast. the scramble was the special of the day- applewood bacon, carmelized onions, pears, feta, spinach... so good.
the place is a little small inside, so once the weather really turns wet the wait list will be getting longer. but the patio is great when the weather cooperates.
two thumbs up.
where I want to be sunday morning. local ingredients, friendly service, a welcome addition the the Fremont Strip. I would get there early or be prepared to wait on a sunday or saturday brunch day. Get anything on special...I always find it to be funner then regular menu options.
Cute place. After reading the reviews about Bumblekiss, my boyfriend and I decided to try this place on Saturday with our 4 1/2 yr. old daughter. We thought it was a cute place but didn't realize how small the restaurant was going to be. I ordered the Chickadee sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the Burly Benny, and my daughter got the french toast, 1 of the 2 options for kids menus. When the food arrived, we were dissapointed. My sandwich was full of lettuce, tomato slices, and maybe a tablespoon of chicken salad. There was very little sauce to hold it together and barley any chicken salad in the sandwich. When I took a bite, all the chicken would fall out. It could be a wonderful sandwich but was I left feeling unsatisfied. My boyfriend's biscuits and gravy were extremely bland and flavorless. Adding salt to it didn't seem to make it for the lost flavor or the porridge like consistency. It was so bad, he only ate the sausage. The waitress was kind enough to give us half off, which was very nice of her. My daughter's french toast was very good, probably the best thing that we ordered. Maybe we visited on the chef's off day or something because we were expecting great tasting food but we were let down. There were plenty of creative items to order so maybe what we ordered was fluke or something.
Fabulous breakfasts & service. I love this bright, cheerful space which makes me feel gleeful even before I am inside and seated to enjoy the terrific food presented with TLC by efficient and genial servers. Every breakfast I have had has been superb -- from "pumpkin pie" French toast to biscuits & gravy. Even menu item names bring a smile to my face. My one lunch entree was also quite good, and friends with me raved about their sandwiches. I will return often to this delightful dining spot.
Great service, and creative wonderful food. On a recent trip to the Northwest, we discovered this small, colorful restaurant & stopped in for breakfast. To our great delight, we found the food original, creative, and delicious! The service was prompt and cheerful. I would highly recommend stopping here on your trip to Portland.
Nice neighborhood spot. This is a sweet little spot for breakfast and a fun addition to our neighborhood. I'm always in a dilemma whether to order something sweet or savory so I love the fact that you can get a little bit of both with one order. Brilliant! How come no one else does that??? The service was very friendly and they genuinely seemed glad to see you.
Amazing french toast. I just recently found this little place and love it. They have the best french toast and their specials are hard to resist. I also love the meatballs pasta, which is very reasonably priced, that they have at lunch and dinner.
You can't miss the bright orange building!. Creative menu. The perfect blend of ingredients. Absolutely delicious! Wait staff was helpful and friendly. Definitely go there for brunch. You won't regret it!
Cheerful little house turns out deluxe all-day breakfast and lunch in NE Portland's Beaumont Village.
In Short
The diminutive dining room is juicy orange and sunny yellow with contrasting dark-brown trim. Gal-pals, couples and families sip coffee and mango iced tea at tables topped with vases of whimsical felt flowers. Breakfast plates include scrambles and omelets, thick cinnamon-swirl French toast and eggs Benedict on a biscuit. The lunch menu, also available anytime, has soups, salads, burgers, sandwiches and dishes like curried chicken or tofu over jasmine rice.
a hip and cozy breakfast spot. i very much enjoyed their creative menu served in a cute little modern house. the wait staff is very friendly and the atmospher is pleasant. Definitely worth a try!
