Uncooked, frozen beef and even worse service. I had been here a couple of times before about a couple of years ago and both times it was disappointing, but I saw the recent reviews being good, so I thought I'd give them one more try hoping they'd gotten their act together. I ordered a combo for a take out here about a couple of months ago - can't remember what it's called but it had marinated beef, rice, and macaroni salad. I took it home and opened the container just to find the beef (other than cooked looking surface)is in one solid, still frozen chunk underneath the thin layer that was cooked outside. I was horrified and disgusted that I threw it all away. This is on top of their service (or lack thereof) - the employees never bother with hello or thank you. Turned out my friends from the islands avoid this place all together. Go figure.

Great lunch spot. Just tried lunch here for the first time. I was very impressed by the quality of the food and the large portions. I had the kalua pork which was excellent. I also heard good things from the people I was eating with about the garlic shrimp and the curry. Medium price range but wonderful, tasty food. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Excellent, authentic food; generous portions. My girlfriend and I went here after we spent a few weeks in Hawaii in late 2008. I had tried Loco Moco there, so I wanted to try that, and I also love Kalua pork. Both were excellent - the Kalua pork tasted like it was fresh from the Imu pit - and we've been back 7 or 8 times in the last 2 months. I can get both in a "combo" for around $1 more, so I don't have to decide between the two. My girlfriend loves SPICY food, but nobody around here can or will make it to her taste. She ordered the garlic shrimp "triple spicy" (not recommended for most!) and she LOVES it. They have a special spicy sauce they bring out from the back when she orders. Finally - a place that makes it the way she likes it. And when she's happy, I'm happy. :^) Keep up the good work!

Solid Overall. Food is great. I would recommend carrying Aloha Shoyu though. Maybe its just me but I can't stand Kikoman shoyu, it ruins a good meal. Also, how about Hapa rice?

Amazing food.. I was just there tonight for some chicken katsu and spicy shrimp. YUM! I have known the owners and founders Hiriomi and Gerrick for years...From the inception the Aiea Grill was their vision. Gerrick is a phenomenal chef of not only the Hawaiian menu that he created, but also of sushi, steaks and everything else I have had the pleasure and honor of sharing with him and his delightful wife.

The differences between Aiea and many other Hawaiian restaurants are that Aiea is clean, and the food is high quality and very well made. Also Hiriomi and Gerrick are warm, friendly and gregarious people who genuinely care about their customers, their friends and the quality of their food.

Kanpai! Mahalo! Cheers! and Enjoy! :)
