I went to see Hangremeh for
permanent/cosmetic tattooing. I sought her out as she was recommended by a dear friend who loves the permanent eye liner that Hangremeh did. I made my appointment and had the consult with her just before the tattooing commenced. Hangremeh recommended that I use permanent Tattoo Ink and that it would over time shift and adjust, blending with my skin. It sounded good and went along with her recommendation.
I will announce here that I did not do any research on proper permanent cosmetic tattooing protocol and take full accountability for not educating myself to find out that pigment is the only medium that should be use as it fades over time to allow regular touch ups that match the contouring of the eye through maturing grace. I should not have relied on the practitioner to educate me or sway my permanent choice.
Overall, the quality of Hangremeh's technique was top notch. Despite that I am unhappy with the outcome.
There is a fleshy gap between my lashes and the eye liner. Though it is subtle and most other people do not notice it, I don't like it. Since the tattoo healed I have needed to put on eye liner over the tattoo liner to make it look attractive. I don't feel comfortable leaving my house without make up on. I feel unnatural looking. Hangremeh did advise that the tattoo liner would soften and blend over time and I was hoping that it would do so and would grow to like it. Now, a little more than 2 years later and I still don't like it.
I contacted Hangremeh for help to reverse or correct the tattoo. She was EXTREMELY DEFENSIVE and insinuated that it was my fault for waiting 2 years to contact her with my displeasure, preventing her from touching it up to a satisfactory aesthetic. I told her that her work was fine, I just didn't like how it worked on me. She continued to harass me on how it didn't make sense that I waited two years to contact her. I explained that I go to medical school and work full time plus my hopes that the permanent liner would grow to my liking after time. She continued to raise her voice, get agitated, and continued to ask why I would wait for so long and wonder how it was possible that I didn't like it. I said to her that I'm not accusing her of any wrong doing, that I'm coming to her for help. That I'm asking for a solution, whatever that may be. Regardless of what I said she berated me and hounded me about not contacting her for 2 years. I told her all I wanted was for her to correct the work in whatever fashion was available and if she couldn't do that then she should suggest that I see someone else for their assistance. Her response was, "You should see someone else," and then raised her voice louder, practically yelling at me about the same nonsense. I was unable to get a word in and just hung up.
ROZE is the BEST HAIRSTYLIST!.
I love the atmosphere and the nice people here. There is a very calm ambiance and personal feel here. I really enjoy this mood and atmosphere when I come to get my hair done/break.
Roze does my hair: full highlights, cut, and gives the best scalp massages during wash/rinse. She is skilled and has the best eccentric personalities ever. She is very open-minded makes me feel beautiful every time I leave the salon (even though I come in looking like the #70 Bus hit me).
I absolutely love my hair and how it makes me feel. I had a child a year ago, so the quick pony tails became apart of my daily routine. But Roze was able to give me a hot style that was easy, stylish, and beautiful. I recommend her for all of your hair needs!
Very Good!!!. Good service and products, the hot rocks massage is really nice. I am not really comfortable with the permanent makeup or laser removal but otherwise a good place to go.
BEST SALON EVER!!. I moved to Portland recently and was in dire need of a permanent make up artist. I googled for permanent make up and found Carpe Diem Salon and Spa. This salon is amazing! Not only is the staff very welcoming and friendly the atmosphere is GORGEOUS! The owner Hengameh remodeled this old house and it is absolutely fabulous! I would HIGHLY recommend this salon. They have a full service salon, aesthetician, permanent make up artist, and mani/pedi's!
Absolutely Loved It!. I really liked my time here at Carpe Diem, Highly Recommend it! The service is great and the people are nice.
I went to Carpe Diem for the first time in February 08. I was scared to death as this was the first time I had been to a salon in 10 years. I was very pleasantly surprised!!!! The customer service was fabulous and the haircut was the best. I went on the recommendation of someone else and I am sure glad I did.
I go there regularly now and am happy with my hair every time I leave. And the owner speaks very fluent english. She is a sweetheart! And what she has done with that place is unbelievable!
Take my advise and just try it once or twice. They also have permanent make-up services and massage etc.
Very Nice. Nice salon, I highly recomend it. It is a very nice atmosphere to be in and the people are great.
Get pampered and leave with fabulous hair!. I sure hope that readers will pay no attention to the ridiculous negative reviews posted earlier. If they do, they will miss one of the best, if not THE BEST salon experience in the Portland area. The salon itself is absolutely beautiful, AND it's comfortable, very geared to spoiling clients. I find it odd that someone claimed the owner spoke no English, since she sat down and had a long, friendly conversation with me. I could tell that she enjoys people and is dedicated to making patrons feel welcome. These things alone, however, wouldn't be enough for me to highly recommend the Salon. The main reason why I highly recommend Carpe Diem is the skill of the hairdressers, mine in particular :-) CIndy Barber cut and highlighted my very thick hair. It's gorgeous. People stop me and ask who did my hair. I am getting regular compliments on my hair. And THAT is why I choose to drive to Carpe Diem from Vancouver, WA and THAT is why I highly recommend this fabulous place.
great salon and spa. this is an awesome place with great people. the environment is relaxing and soothing for both males and females.
Great Massage. Great new salon in West Moreland. They did a really nice job renovating the building. I got a massage from Aurora. She was great. I'm a big fan of the hot rocks massage.
