Known for years as "Laundromat Thai" because of its vicinity to coin-opts, it's anything but giant dill pickles and 75-cent attitude stickers. Here you'll find a more upscale atmosphere than you'd expect, and solid SE Asian dishes such as avocado curry.
A great little neighborhood restaurant. Excellent service and the food is consistent. However, I ate there on Saturday, and 3 days later am still sick. Unfortunately, I have eaten there for the last. Best N/NE Thai. A year ago I moved to the NE from SE and have been searching ever since for a Thai place that was comparable to my favorite place--Tom Yum on Woodstock. After trying every Thai joint on Alberta, Broadway and everywhere in between I finally found Monsoon Thai. It is by far the best in the area. The chicken is good quality, the flavors are just right, the service is excellent, and the food is consistent. Their soups- especially Tom yum- are the perfect balance of heat and sour and are not greasy. I often order the rock and rolls which are very fresh and tasty. Every noodle dish I have tried has been delicious with generous portion good amount of spices. I passed this place by many times because it didn't have much curb appeal. Thank God I finally tried it! I won't go anywhere else if I want good Thai close to home.
Good food, fantastic service. We go here all the time, because the food is good (especially the tom kha soup!!!) and the service is fantastic. Also, they are open until 10 pm, which means I can enjoy a later meal. We used to order take out all the time, and when we finally dined in we realized what we were ordering wasn't even on the menu, but they were making it for us anyway! That's great service!
Great neighborhood Thai place.. Food is good - not spectacular, mind you - but it hits the spot every time. I've always been happy with their salad rolls, pad thai and drunken noodles. Plus, really nice staff, warm decor and nice, comfy booths. Solid.
