Tigard >New York New York
"Old" is always better. Ask three times, and a 20min wait for a drink....still got it wrong. Waitress was dumb as a doornail. Food was not worth my time nor the $18 for one piece of meat and some tomatoes, not even the spaghetti THAT I DID NOT GET was worth it...couldn't even have dessert stoped at the 7-11 for that. Eight people in the restaurant still slow and crappy......I loved the old place better....next time i'd go to the olive garden before this place . Waste of time dont go. NEW OWENERS PLEASE SELL IT
Tigard finally does Italian.
New York NY- This place was a surprise the other location more of the NY pizzera locale was disappointing but arrived with an open mind.
Started with the Italian salad which was very good and not drowned in dressing. We followed this with chicken piccata and a mushroom, sausage and meatball calzone. The piccata was above average with plenty of flavors popping and a subtle lemon flavor. the chicken was moist and tender only slight criticism there could be a little more chicken
The calzone was good by west coast standards and had a lot of meat filling. the only complaint is also the meat. There was not enough mozzarella and no ricotta inside. A good calzone should be a blending of the cheeses and meats not layers in dough, as it was here. The crust however was good as was the sauce to dip it in.
For dessert we tried the cannoli. This was good but was made with marscapone instead of riccota or a blend of each. The cannoli tubes were non traditional but very flaky. I would say they were very good as was the presentation with pistacchio nuts. Overall good place to go
Greatest food in the area!!!.
Some of the best cooked food I have eaten to date. Had dinner there a few nights ago and was incredibly impressed by the chef. Went back in the next day for lunch during my work hour and ordered a small pizza which also was great. To be honest the first review I read didn't make much sense but I have high regards for this place and have been telling all of my friends to check it out
P.S.- Ask for the chef's special, it was fantastic!!!
Terrible Experience. Ordered pizza and calzone to go for the first time. Upon arrival, I was prompted to pay for my meal and then was advised that my pizza had been burned and they would have to make a new one. I was reassured that the calzone was ok. Despite of the restaurant being practically empty (which should of been a sign!!!) I waited for the second pizza pie for 25 minutes. After leaving the restaurant with the food in a rush, I checked the calzone on my way home and it was burned. I called the restaurant and advised them of the event and requested a refund for the item. They indicated they would call me back and did not. Cleanliness of the restaurant was questionable and apparently kitchen staff was not motivated to do a good job. Will not go back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Having grown up in NY city and eaten great pizza, their pizza does not even come close.
Wonderful Ambiance. Great Food and very interesting environment in this wonderful New York Italian Restaurant. Great Pizza and entrees! Skip the generic Olive Garden Italian food and try this instead.
