Terrible customer service, inconsistant quality

Asthetically, Sinju is a gem. Very swish and trendy, with a modern Japanese fusion interior. As I live (and work) very close by, Sinju was one of my often-frequented restaurants. The sushi is usually fresh and creative, and the other Japanese dishes remind me of the foods I ate when I lived in Kobe, Japan.
That said, the customer service and quality of some of its meals can be unpredictable. Today, I went on my lunch break to enjoy some tempura and when it finally arrived, it was soggy, saturated with grease, super heavy, with a ton of extra tempura batter dumped on top.
Having eaten the exact same dish less than a week before, I knew it was not up to par with my previous experience. The entire meal was made up of soggy batter. After three bites, I politely explained the situation to my waitress, who referred me to her indifferent, overly defensive manager. I was basically told that the quality was normal, and he insinuated that I was in the wrong. Please keep in mind that I have NEVER in my life sent food back.
I was really surprised at his cavalier attitude and failure to listen. Only after several polite attempts on my part to explain that there was something wrong did he at last offer to replace the uneaten meal with something else.
I am really disappointed. I was a fan of this unique restaurant, and have spent a ton of money there. To be treated like I was being unreasonable or childishly picky was really off-putting. Suffice it to say, after such rudeness I will not be returning.
- Pros: Asthetically pleasing environment
- Cons: Rude staff, long waits, inconsistant quality of food
Good sushi, nice place

I eat at Sinju at least once a week. The sushi rolls and nigiri are very good, tempura is great, tofu items are borderline great (even for a meat eater like me).
The music they play is the worst ever. I don't mean a little bad. I mean terrible, like "nails on a chalk board", "cat caught its tail in a meat grinder" bad. It's some sub-par, home-spun, karaoke-grade reggae that never seems to end.
But, the sushi is really enjoyable and the servers are all very, very friendly. It's nice to get good service with a big smile.
- Pros: Good sushi rolls & nigiri, decent prices
- Cons: awful awful awful music
