If the name of this place doesn't give away this bar's kooky theme, the treasure chests of faux gold and servers dressed in buccaneer garb will. But there's more here than just décor: The menu is filled with vegan versions of carnivore favorites, including fake-chicken caccitore, lasagna, shish kebabs, jerked tofu pasta and Salisbury steak. Yes, Pirates Tavern closed..... Sort of. It is still owend and operated by the same folks and still has vegan food. But now it's called Casa Diablo and is a smoke-free strip club. So, if you don't mind women disrobing while you eat, it's still the place to get some tofu based apetizers in the NW industrial district.

I have not had the chance to experience this establishment. However, I am writing this update to let others who may be looking for it know they closed for business in December of 07 for good. I wish I'd had the chance to check it out.
