Rockfish with nettle pesto and fingerling potatoes, the pork chop with mustard spaetzle, black pepper sausage and parnsip puree. Delirious good food followed up with the perfect dessert; warm chocolate cake with olive oil ice cream drizzled with caramel sauce! Organic elegance and our waiter was delightful and attentive. Dinner on a Monday was easy to get into but later in the week a reservation is a good idea and HH is always crowded.

Nice Happy Hour Menu. We went with a bunch of friends for happy hour. Prices were good. Items as cheap as $1 and going up to $10 for a huge gourmet burger. Kind of crazy when it came to the table. Serious cocktail list but we stuck to the happy hour drinks which were tasty. The obvious seriousness behind the bar seemed to translate into waiting for our drinks a little longer than expected but worth it. My drink came with a chunk of ice in it that looked like it was chipped off an ice block. Pretty cool. The place is laid back. Waiter was nice. No complaints. I'm going back to try the dinner menu. Looked like good, comfort food.

My Second Time..... Last night was my second time to 23Hoyt. It was good before, but it was very good last night. We had two flatbreads to start and then I had the most delicious fresh pasta I've ever had in Portland. I've had better elsewhere but not in this city. My companion enjoyed a chicken entree and although didn't knock her socks off like my pasta dish, she enjoyed it very much.

Service was great. A very friendly gentleman checked on our table a number of times. He must have been the manager. This place would have gotten a B the last time we were in but last night definitely an A.

Not too expensive, cocktail list is interesting. Bartender was very friendly. Music in bathrooms oddly loud.

Good food, terrible service. I went with a friend and we each ordered one drink...it took 15-20 minutes to get our drinks and they messed one drink up. We ordered olives and fried green beans, our olives were brought to us 20 minutes after our drinks and they brought us fried onions (wrong again). We let them know and 15 minutes later when our beans were still not there we asked to cancel that order. Did I mention that the place was dead? There was literally 5 tables of people. Overall, our waitress rarely checked in and messed up both orders. I will not go back.

Nice experience. Reasonably priced entrees, great cocktails and excellent service. The Happy Hour menu looks good; I will be back soon.
