What People Are Saying About North 45 Pub

In Short – Named for Portland's location on the 45th parallel, this upscale yet comfy neighborhood pub was conceived back in 2005 by two buddies backpacking through South Africa. The world maps used as decorative touches and the far-flung menu speak to the globetrotting nature of the proprietors. Drink options include about 20 beers, 20 wines and an assortment of cocktail concoctions, including the Peruvian Pisco sour (Pisco brandy, fresh lemon and egg white topped with bitters).
Best Hamburger Ever!
by thiago23
I had the best hamburger ever at North 45 the first time I went there two moths ago. Since then I became a regular. I am from Brazil and I raise cattle there, so I can say that I know good meat. And The bacon cheese burger I had at North 45 is by far the best burger I have ever had. It is great meat, freshly mixed and seasoned, on fresh crispy ciabatta bread. I highly recommend it! Also, the steak and 'shrooms is excellent! Not to metion the amazing appetizers such as their fried calamari asian style, and the delicious cheese plate that comes well decorated and with amazing fresh fruits! For those interested in tasting beers, they had amazing Belgium beers, and my favorite Czech beer on tap (Czechvar). Besides, the great food and drinks, North 45 has an amazing atmosphere for singles and couples; and, the service is great! Their servers besides knowledgable, they are beautiful, friendly, and attencious.
- Pros: Great Beers, food and service. Smoke free!
- Cons: Can't think of any!
Czechvar on Tap!!
by halokitty
Any place that has Czechvar on tap deserves 5 stars in my book- this is a beer from the Czech Republic that until last year you could not find in the United States at all. (It's an easy drinking beer that would be perfect on a patio on a hot summer day.) We also had some food. I had an order of the lemon parsley mussels, and my husband had the half roasted chicken. My mussels were delicious- they were a generous portion, served with a large portion of belgian pomme frittes (fries). The fries were cooked perfectly, and tasted delicious with the mussels. My husbands chicken was served with mashed potatoes and vegetabls. The white meat was cooked perfectly, and the dark meat was slightly overcooked, although still tasty. After dinner, we split a small bottle of the Maredsous, a Belgian Tripel. It was fairly good (although the Chimay Grande Reserve is our favorite Belgian). Overall, the look of the bar was nice, and the food was delicious. The service was decent- there was only one bartender/server that seemed a bit overworked. Try it out- I don't think you'll be disappointed. The alcohol prices are slightly high, but the low food prices make up for it.
- Pros: Czechvar on tap, beer list, food
- Cons: Street parking, high beer prices
ancient customers
by Illian
Well the ancient customers are reliving their college youth, so sad. The patio is a joke, stay in the bar much nicer atmosphere, unless the ancients are getting too loud. The famous oysters sent me to the ER, stick with soup and a beer if you have the bucks.
- Pros: bar is cute
- Cons: food , price to high
