Fabulous Dentistry!. This is a dental office that shines! Upon my first visit (and every visit after), I was greeted and treated like a valued customer. Brandy, the hygienist, came out with a lovely smile of reassurance and walked me back to the exam area. She was wonderful! Unfortunately, I have what I think is one of the smallest mouths in the world, but she was gentle and careful in her exam and in taking x-rays. Everything was explained as we went and all questions were answered. When Dr. Calcagno came in, she offered me the best greeting I have received in ages and treated me as if I was a family member that she needed to take extra care with. She asked for my opinions and took them into consideration before giving me a full evaluation. I would highly recommend City Dental to anyone looking for a fabulous dental experience! I will never fear the dentist again.. I am in my 30s and this is the first time I have EVER been compelled to post a review on Citysearch. That should say a lot about the quality of my experience with Dr. Calcagno.

Like others who have posted here, I've had ugly, painful encounters with dentists in the past. I hated visiting the dentist so much that I still had my wisdom teeth in my late 20s. Through my fog of blinding headaches, a co-worker recommended Dr. Calcagno. My first visit (x-ray, cleaning, etc.) was such a good experience that I agreed to have her remove one of my (by then rotten) wisdom teeth.

Second visit. I'm scared. Dr. Calcagno's staff (amazing admins and hygienists btw) immediately put me at ease.

Then, after what seemed like 5 minutes (logically, I know it took longer) Dr. Calcagno showed me the wisdom tooth she had removed. The root was hook-shaped! I know little about dentistry, but I imagine that a doctor with less skill might have broken the tooth trying to remove it. Dr. Cacagno expertly removed the entire tooth intact. I feel extremely lucky that I waited until I met Dr. Calcagno to have my wisdom teeth removed. I'm about to have a root canal and while I can't say I'm looking forward to it, I will probably be logging on to Citysearch again, to tell you all about how great the experience was.

"Root canals" and "great experiences" are not oxymorons in Dr. Calcagno's office.

I could seriously write 10 more pages about the quality of every appointment I've had with Dr. Calcagno and her staff.

Reading the other reviews here, I can see that the excellence of Dr. Calcagno's office is very consistent. Clearly this doctor has found her calling. She excels not only at what she does, but at attracting the highest quality dental staff in the city. Did I mention that my most recent cleaning was wonderful?

Quite honestly the best dental experience I have had. After years of so-so dentist's offices, I was referred to Dr. Calcagno's office by a coworker. I am now eternally in that coworker's debt.

From the first phone call placed to their office, everyone has been so friendly and helpful. And when you walk in to their office, that attitude continues. You can tell that everyone in the office truly enjoys working there and enjoys what they do.

As for Dr. Calcagno, she is great! Professional, caring, good sense of humor and you can tell she really cares about her patients. She and her staff took their time listening to my concerns and took the time to make me feel exceedingly comfortable, even though I truly cannot stand going to the dentist.

I remarked when I was about to leave after my initial appointment, "I didn't hate this". And its true. In fact, despite the fact that my follow up appointment was for a rootcanal, I was looking forward to going back. And I wasn't disappointed.

I had the rootcanal this morning and experienced the best I could have during that type of appointment. After being warmly welcomed by everyone, I was taken back to my room right away. Dr. Calcagno came in and started prepping the injection site. Then, before I even realized it, the injections were done. For those of you who have had bad injection experiences, this is the dentist for you. Truth be told, I didn't even feel anything during the entire time she was giving me the injections.

As for the rootcanal itself, I couldn't believe how quickly it went. Don't get me wrong...she didn't rush it in any way. In fact, there was extensive work to be done, as I had a broken tooth. Its just that everyone is so efficient that time just flys by.

A Corrective Emotional Experience plus Great Dental Care. I first came to Dr. Calcagno with years of orthodontic trauma and a mouth full of teeth that had not been cleaned in seven years. I was so terrified of going to the dentist that I would not be able to sleep before my appointment, and would dread going in. I also did not have dental insurance at the time, and was apprehensive about the cost.

Dr. Calcagno and her staff were amazing. The worked with me closely to help me make a plan to make my dental care affordable and stress free.

And while I did recieve excellent PAIN FREE dental care that I was very happy with, the biggest plus for me was their total commitment to my sense of safety and trust. After seeing Dr. Calcagno for a few years now, I am delighted to report that I no longer get nervous before visiting the dentist (!), and my teeth are in great shape.
