All day HH on Tuesday with bar bites like veggie tempura and spring rolls. Regina reads tarot cards every Tuesday & has a gift with her intuitive interpretation of the cards.
Pretty Terrible.
Not just disappointing, but actually terrible. The green glow is uncomfortable and annoying, yes, and the DJ is a mild nuiscance with his slightly distorted version of "mixing," but the food came as the great shocker. It's just bad. Springrolls were dry and unappetizing, pad thai was undistinguishable... didn't realize that the Thai used soggy spaghetti noodles in canned peanut sauce... and the "Special" was anything but. Again, I remind you, it wasnt just kind of not good, it was terrible. To top it off, the service was slow. Four of us sat down for dinner, and three were finished before the final dinner plate even arrived. Silverware didn't make it to the table until the food was cold. It was a pretty miserable experience.
I like IlPiatto! What happened? Don't they share a kitchen and a chef? Who in their right mind would let food out of the kitchen as it was?
My diet coke was decent though.
This place rocks.
This place is my new favorite. The drinks are creative, the staff is super friendly and the food is not only relatively cheap but also real good. Though I have seen another review critiquing the green lighting I find it unique and perfect for an intimate evening. Another great thing is they have DJ's several nights during the week and also several all night happy hours.
Definitely my kind of place.
Super slow, good food. I tried this place with some friends after seeing mostly good reviews on here. True, the drinks were interesting and good, and the food was great...however, the service was so slow it really wasn't worth the wait. We were there for two hours and felt completely neglected- there was no chance to get a refill on our drinks (until we flagged someone down to ask for the bill), our order was missing an appetizer, and the servers avoided eye contact. It did look like there was one guy doing most of the waitstaff/bartender duty, and he was nice though flustered and spread thin. We won't be going back though, and unless they increase the waitstaff I wouldn't recommend it.
Unique and trendy neighborhood joint. I walked into Jade Lounge after work, tired and hungry and was delightfully surprised by the general atmosphere. I was seated next to the bar by a friendly and amiable waitress. My usually quick overview of the menu took longer then anticipated because there was such a variety of delicious entrees. I ordered the Jaded Player cocktail and then another one. The unique flavors were like nothing I have ever had before. My meal arrived shortly after placing my order, and was some of the best pan-asian food I have ever had. The decor was sultry and the music - intoxicating. I plan on coming in again very soon.
A secret neighborhood gem!. Oh I love the Jade Lounge! I started going there because it was convenient (right in my 'hood), but I keep going back because I like it so much. It's a great place to wind down with some tunes after a long day at work. Anyway, so normally I'm a beer drinker, but I can't resist the infused liquours and fresh juices that go into their cocktails, so that's what I typically go for when I'm at Jade. On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have $3 munchies all night (get the tempura vegetables: deep fried beets - Omigosh!), and they have dope-ass DJs a few nights a week. Also, the staff's awesome. Don, Rosie, and Todd, and even a few of the kitchen guys have gone out of their way to learn my name. You could say that's good customer service, but that doesn't really describe it right. It feels more like just going to see some friends... friends who make really awesome cocktails!
The food is always good and the music is really stepping up!. I've been to the Jade (since it's in my neighborhood) several times over the past few months and have seen it really come into its own. They've had a few new and diverse DJs who have added spice and interest. I've now brought my mom in and some friends from out of town as well as hang out there just for a local drink by myself. All experiences have been great. Check out DJ Nealie Neal who spins some great music on Thursdays and Saturdays. They have another, different DJ on Tuesdays who is also great and they have a happy hour all day on Tuesday. I like this place, it's becoming my favorite neighborhood bar. And regarding the other review - I've never EVER heard anything close to goth music playing there and I've always been served drinks in a friendly manner. Sometimes it pays not to leave a place in a huff after three minutes.
the grumpy green midget. Walked into this place and immediately knew I had made a mistake. Took me awhile to adjust to the uncomfortable green glow and bad goth music. When I did, I was greeted with a scowl from the stocky dude tinkering with something behind the bar and "it'll be a minute" (I was the only customer and it was 10 on thursday). So sorry to trouble you buddy. I took the cue and left dude in to his muddling and his sickly green glow (which I think is there to mask the cheesy Chinatown decor).
Wonderful!. Came in for a great Saturday night, with some friends, and has got to be one of the best lounges out there! Delicious small plates, and amazing drinks! I will be back in soon!
Infusions and Purees. Fantastic and unusual cocktails. They make their own vodka infusions with things like lemongrass and chilis, and fresh fruit purees. You can taste the difference. Great atmosphere and friendly service, too.
Sister property to adjoining Il Piatto, Jade Lounge offers Asian fusion dishes in a loungy setting..
In Short
Dimly lit by glowing green suspended lanterns, this Asian-themed lounge seats 32 in jade-toned wooden chairs, black leather banquettes and plush seats. Flickering candles perched in alcoves and on tables provide additional atmosphere. The menu spans Thai, Japanese, Indonesian and Chinese cuisines, with entrees like banana leaf-wrapped salmon. In addition to a healthy wine list, the lounge offers inventive signature cocktails, including The Dragonlady, made with house-infused lemongrass and chili vodka.
