Completely unimpressive, unless..... You like indifferent service, small plates, no silverware and a dimly lit environment that seems to be hiding an underlying dinginess. We went to see someone who was playing there and the "band" area was a joke. A few square feet in a corner. My first and last visit to this place. Not even enough atmosphere, friendliness or attraction to warrant a second chance.
Awesome Shows and Great Food. We happened to be in the neighborhood when we came across the Jade Lounge. Cozy and inviting with live music, and best of all they told us most are FREE. Now I'm a fan of FREE so this is momentous to me. Plus their food was pretty cheap and really good. I recommend the yam fries with spicy ketchup, or the banana fritters. Server/ Bartender was running around trying to keep up but she did manage to get our drinks pretty fast. Music was awesome, it consisted of a solo singer songwriter at first, then later on we listened to a bluegrass band. Now I check their web site for any shows that I might like prior to going.
servers didn't acknowledge us. I was so excited to try this place. We went last night with the intention of trying their fabulous looking all night Tuesday happy hour. The place has a great vibe and the menu looked amazing. There were some tables that had been vacated but hadn't been cleaned. We took a seat (at one of the dirty tables) and checked out the menu and decided what we wanted to order. Two servers walked by us several times and didn't acknowledge us or the fact that the table was dirty. After about 10 minutes we got up and left totally disgusted. They didn't need to clean our table or take our order right then if they didn't have the time, but they did need to let us know that they saw us at least... Sadly, we will not be going back.
Sexy bar, deadly drinks. The ambiance is seductive and cool, while the service is surprisingly friendly, and the drinks potent. I enjoyed a Bodhi Tree and loved the fun glass it came in and the interesting flavors it combined. I would love to come back, if only to sample every other intriguing concoction they offer.
Just great. We really enjoyed our time there. We usually just make a meal of the appetizers and it was very easy to find something for everybody. The Yam Fries were especially good. And the bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful.
Wow...cool vibe, great drinks. I had seen this place next to il Piatto for about a year but never had the opportunity to stop in until last week. This is one of the most unique bars in town, decor-wise. The room is entirely green with shellaced walls and cool lighting. The bar staff was super friendly and the drinks were de-lish. Two thumbs up on Jade Lounge...I'll be back for sure.
Delicious and Fun. I have had only great experiences at this neighborhood spot -- good food, unusual drinks, really nice staff, and the owners are very friendly and really make you feel welcome. I like it.
Great Happy Hour.
Great variety of inexpensive food items to choose from, plus it lasts all night long. We went on a Thursday, what a cool place. Interesting drink menu, lots of house infusions.
The service was very friendly, always a big plus. Loved the decor.
bad food bad service. The woman tending bar gave us nothing but attitude all night. The drinks when we got them were good but the food was pretty bland and overpriced. The dj was ok but a lot of the time it droned on and on. Overall, there are way better places to spend an evening.
Happy Hour.
What better place to go for Happy Hour! Ordered the Salad Rolls, Tempura Vegetables (includes Yams & Beets), Grilled Chicken w/peanut sauce. Yummy and delicious. Drinks: Pear Sake (my favorite).
Atmosphere: Love the decor. Quiet and cozy. A hidden SE location to become known to all of Portland fast!
